Are you a meal reviewer? Someone that writes reviews of food?

I have been on Yelp a few years now. I love reviewing restaurants that have good service. (picture is of Fish and chips from dinner!) Do you? Go to a restaurant and then later write a review of the service, the food, and the overall experience?

I do on TripAdvisor, just a few lines to let people know if the restaurant is worth a visit or not.

@DocAndersen They pay nothing, but it is one of the biggest source of reviews for hotels and restaurants.

Do they pay? No I have not except to the head office when the service or food was the worst ever to let them know to do something.

Sometimes. Unfortunately we haven't had that many good experiences at chain restaurants.

@DocAndersen We are restaurant poor out here. There aren't even any decent restaurants in the next big town...except Red Lobster is usually pretty consistent. The good restaurants are probably in Cleveland, about an hour away or more.

@LindaOHio are you close to twinsburg? We used to go to the twins festival every year (when the twins were little)?

I have done that for pay, and ocassionally for no pay. I usually only write reviews if the food is exceptionally good or bad.

Yes, and no. I don't always do this, only if I feel strongly about something. I have left some good reviews, but I am more apt to review when I have something negative to say. I went to a restaurant once with an ex bf and we were ignored for the most part. Our waiter was too busy flirting with the table of girls next to us. My ex had to get up and get his own tea. The manager ended up pouring the tea for him, and yet at the end ofthe service we were required to pay the full amount. We had to get up to go to the register because the server had not given us our ticket.

@DocAndersen I go for four or five stars and then usually two stars. I think the only restaurant I ever gave a one star review to was the one I mentioned above.

it is difficult sometimes - i like to mix my reviews. I do great reviews and I do really bad. So I have a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews, and a few 1 star, but not much in the 2 and 3 star world!

I have been writing reviews for theatre, movies and restaurants as long as I have been a writer--used to write a weekly restaurant review for a local magazine.

@DianneN right now I think we are doing Dublin, Glasgow and then home. We may switch that to Edinborough, but for now we aren't set other than Dublin!

Sometimes I do. Other times I do not. It just depends. If I do, I rarely if ever do it on Yelp though.
