Windows 10 Is Costing Me Money

I'm not really complaining...I was expecting this. So far I can no longer run my PhotoShop software and also my software for my really cool webcam which can take videos and pictures. I used to use this a lot for my internet pictures because it gathers the light and makes all the pictures bright and clear. Also, I will need to contact Carbonite. They are the company that automatically backs up my computer files. They have been unable to back up my files since I upgraded to Windows 10. What the heck? Who knows what I will find next? I have not tried to play my dozens of computer games. I'm sure some of them are too old to run on 10. My new computer will be coming soon and will have Windows 10 already installed. Isn't modern technology fun? Just thought I'd share with you what I was thinking about. Photo Credit: Pixabay

windows 10 is pretty solid, other than the fact that some older programs no longer run! It is a lot more stable if that helps?

@DocAndersen Thanks for the offer Scott! We'll see how my new computer runs. If I have the same problem, you will be able to hear me in DC.

Oh my goodness. It never ends. I stopped using Windows a few years ago when I got my MacPro laptop and I do not miss it. I wish you luck and hopefully we can all help you get through this change.

@CarolDM Thank you. Venting on a public forum is cleansing.

I don't mean to be a big whiner...there are bigger problems in the world...but I'm tired of sitting here watching this wheel go around; and I don't like that I can't use my webcam anymore. :-(

@LindaOHio You are not a whiner, you are venting. We all have that right. I hope it all gets better soon.

I still keep Windows 7 on my laptop, I refused to upgrade to Windows 10. But windows warn that soon will stop supporting Wind 7 security.

I’m so sorry that’s happening. I remember the nightmares when I upgraded from Windows 3 to Windows 95, then from 95 to 97, then to XP, then to 7. When I read all the reviews about 10 I said, “Nope. No more.” I bought a Mac. Six years later I still have it, and it’s running just fine, thank you. Yes, Macs are expensive up front (I saw a new MacBook on sale [on sale) for $1300 at Best Buy on Sunday), but the long-term peace of mind has been well worth every penny.

I've heard that from a lot of people; but I have too much Windows software to convert.

So it is like when you upgraded the operating system of your computer to Windows 10 some of the software may be needing to be upgraded also?

Why can't you run PhotoShop on the new Windows? That is strange.

The software is too old. It won't run on Windows 10. It ran on Windows 7. The Dell guy said I could use Microsoft Office Power Point to print out my pictures with text added; so that's all I need.

Backing up files should had been done before upgrading to Windows 10 and not after the upgrade had been done I'm not a computer expert but it's how I understand it.

The backup was done before the upgrade...but now that it's on Windows 10, Carbonite is unable to back up my files for some reason. I have to call them.

I am still with Window 7, not looking forward to go to 10. My son hates it.

I am still using Windows 7 and I do not intend to upgrade to Windows 10. If obliged to change the system I will switch to Linux.
