Ring My Bell

Do you open your door when somebody rings your doorbell? Today, there was another one who rung our doorbell. I didn´t open it as I was not expecting a visitor. I was only alone as my hubby was in his atelier. I heard that the person rang in our neighborhood and I heard him went outside. I could see it that it was the man who gave me a magazine about BoFrost Food company. I was right that it was this man who pushed our doorbell. I don´t like ordering food who deliver home (except for a pizza restaurant) because it is expensive. Well, maybe when I can´t go food shopping anymore, that will be the time that I will order online. I have read that Aldi shops accept orders online already. Here is a wonderful song for having a good mood. Ring My Bell. Enjoy!

I never answer the door unless I am expecting someone. I don`t do the random drop in visits. I most certainly wont order food from the peddlers.

Anyone you know that matters would inform if they were coming over. Beggars and solicitors knock on doors and as well as criminals. You can't randomly open a door due to safety concerns.

Just like me @andriaperry. I can see from our window who was ringing the bell. When my friends come, they call me first if I am at home or if I am not so busy so they can come. BoFrost food company is a legit company and is doing its business before I came here in Germany. My parents-in-law used to order from them when they were still alive.

I never open my door if I expect no one. Sometimes I look down from the upper floor, if it's someone who want to sell something I say that I have no time.

I can see who rings my bell. If I couldn’t, I’d never open the door to strangers.

@DianneN I remember when we were living in a small village in Ireland, the people didn't lock their doors and nothing was stolen. Even in the church, the people just left their handbags on the bench while taking their communion. I was so amazed at that time.

I will look outside and see who is ringing before answering the door but then I will answer if I know who it is at that time. I just heard the Aldi by me is offering home delivery now. I am thinking about trying it out if it is not to much more in cost to have it delivered.

@thelme55 Yea, I live in an apartment but I can step out the apartment and look out the glass door and see who is standing there without them seeing me. Then I can decide if I want to let them in I just looked into it and it tells me it will cost me $3.99 for delivery but I think the cost of each item is a bit higher than normal, I will have to check my past recipes to see for sure. If not and it only cost me an extra $3.99 it would be worth it to me. They do say it is based on distance from the store and I am fairly close to the store.

@Bensen32 I see. Thank you for checking it out. We are not far from Aldi but shopping those heavy drinks online might be worth it. I will check our online Aldi shop. Have a nice day.

@thelme55 You are welcome, yes, the heavy items and well just my laziness about going to the store and dealing with the crowd would make it worth it to me LOL

'tis very rare someone rings the bell here. very few visitors 'n most sales folks know not to come. those few who do 're quite put off 's my front door 'tis broken 'n i'll holler 't 'em (if'n i know 'em) to go 'round the back. through the hubs disasters'n herd 'f feral cats. if'n they wish not to be subjected to such, they're free to go 'bout their way.

Yes, Aldi does. Not all of them though. The one near my son does. Not by me. It's good you didn't answer the door. I usually do. I never know when I'm getting company, then it could be the mailwoman with an armload of boxes as it was last week when my books arrived.

I think quite a few people in our cities now order their foods online. It's a good idea I guess and could be very convenient.
