My New Computer Just Arrived

by Fedex and fortunately it had to be signed for. He also brought 3 other packages; so no porch pirates will get these shipments.
Now the real work starts. I think I will wait until tomorrow to re-copy my files and transfer them and then start reloading all of my software. I also have to do a set of steps to transfer my computer backup to the new computer. The information came in an email from Carbonite.
I will be using my old Dell as a backup computer, especially since it's back to running so well. :-(
I will no longer be able to use my backup Toshiba laptop or Dell desktop online after the 1st of the year because they don't have Windows 10.

@JustBhem No, it's just a lot of work to transfer files and reload all the software.

Lucky you. I am trying to get all I can out of the one I have before I bite the bullet and buy a new one. I have had this laptop for probably 7-10 years, and recently the charging port went kaput, so now I buy spare batteries and had to buy an external charger to keep batteries charged to use. I'm cheap, so I want to prolong the inevitable for as long as I can. But I am getting closer and closer to just biting the bullet.

I wanted this to be my last computer (it's 7 years old); but it was hanging up and buffering so much that I ordered a new one...as soon as I did that my old computer went back to running just fine. It figures!

@porwest My computer is hanging up and buffering again today (Sunday); so I feel a little better about the new computer. I just hope the new one doesn't do the same thing! Knock on wood! :-)

@LindaOHio Yeah. That's my luck too. I have another battery coming that should arrive tomorrow from Amazon, so that puts me at three. I should be able to hold out a bit longer.

My old one has started hanging up and buffering again; so I will try and start the setup of my new computer this afternoon.

The real headache with a new computer is setting it up. The sticker price sting leaves quickly but the work in getting it up to stuff makes me groan.

I know. I have a lot of files to transfer and a LOT of software to download. And then I have to figure out the email that I was sent (which makes no sense) to transfer my backup to the new computer...
