I score a pair of fingerless gloves

Last Friday, my writing group held their Christmas wind-up. We all had to wear red, white and/or green and wear a funny hat. We took a plate of food to share and a small gift. We were encouraged to purchase our gift from a thrift store. We hold our meetings every fortnight at the local library. A competition had been organised and we’d all written a one-page piece on any subject we liked. The writing was judged by the librarians. It was a really hot day and the air-conditioning in the library wasn’t working properly so it was quite hot. Luckily the fans were working well. We were given a number and, in turn, we chose a gift from under the Christmas tree. I scored these fingerless gloves which one of our members had knitted herself. I will be able to type with these in the winter so I was very pleased with my gift. Of course, at the moment, I can’t think of anything worse than wearing gloves but give me a month or three and I’ll be pleased to have them.

I never tried to type with gloves on, it was pretty hard when I had a bandage on my left hand.

@JudyEv My fingers were free, my palm had a bandage, but I could not type well even if the fingers were free.

@LadyDuck If the gloves are too thick, they get in the way a bit too.

These will be good because the fingers will be free. Yes, typing with bandages or even a band-aid on a finger can be difficult.

I always wonder where the fingers go.

These only have two holes (well, three actually). The thumb goes in one and the fingers poke out the other. I have had some which just like proper gloves but with the very tips of the fingers cut off.

True. I just mentioned that in a comment - that I could even take photos when wearing these. And it is often very cold when we're out on a ride.

@crazyhorseladycx I wasn't being critical. I very rarely read other comments on a post. It's mostly never crossed my mind to do so. I didn't want you to think I was copying and pasting replies. I'm on a writing website and we're supposed to review other people's writing. But, when you go to their review page later, you discover they've copied and pasted the exact same 'thank you' response to everyone. I find that a bit rude.

Those gloves will come in very handy when it gets cooler in your country.

@amitkokiladitya Because it is summer here and 100 degrees in the water-bag.
On my side of the world, in Western Australia, we’re in the middle of a heatwave. Perth, our capital, is about two hours’ drive away and has had three or four...

Fingerless gloves are great and you can type or text with them. The ones I have give you the option of wearing them fingerless, or you can cover your whole hand with them..They have a detachable cover.

That would be handy. These are like a mitten with the top cut off but I have others that are like proper gloves with just the very tips of the fingers cut off.

You could set it up yourself and stun them with your wonderful lyrical writing. The first bit is tongue in cheek as I don't suppose for a minute you'd join them but the second bit is meant sincerely.

Hot in December. I am not sure I would be complaining about that. Either way, I have never seen the point to fingerless gloves. The part of my hands that get cold the most are my damn fingers.
