As many of you here know, I work online for a living. It sounds easy for some since I don't have to go out there just to work. I just login to my computer or even my mobile phone to start working.
My usual tasks online is not so hard since I usually write articles for other websites as well. I love my job that's why I find it easy and I don't feel like I am working.
But to some people, just because they see me in front of my computer or smartphone all the time, they think that I'm not doing anything productive. They even say that I am lazy and nothing will happen to me and my kids.
I tried to explain to them what I do so that at least they will have a background on what I do for a living. But maybe close-minded will never understand. They still think of me as a lazy bum who just spends my day in front of a computer.
Since when staying in my bedroom means I'm just sleeping? This is the main reason why I choose to work online. I can't deal with judgemental people anymore. But it seems that wherever I go, they do exist everywhere!

I feel you. At one time I heard one of my neighbors asking my Mother why I always with my laptop. They also added that it could harm me, and they even told my Mother that I should work online since I have a laptop. Then my Mother told them that I have been working online for many years already and that I’m earning for my medication. They just silence.

I guess some people just don't even have any slight idea about online jobs. They don't even want to learn anything new

I understand this as people have also said the same of me. It's worse when people don't say anything but you know that they are thinking it. Just because we use our computer to earn does not mean we are lazy or less fortunate. I wish people would realize this.

I agree. They seem to look down on you because you're just in from of the computer all the time. I just wonder if they aren't doing that from their jobs.

@cherriefic Exactly! Many use the computer at their own jobs, and yet they say those who stay home to use the computer aren't doing any work. They are silly!

Working online is not easy. You have to work hard like you do have go outside your home and work. That is good that you enjoy working online. There will be people that do not understand and others that will.

@Hannihar It's better to just let them gossip. I'm not going to be able to feed my kids if I don't continue my online job.

It's even harder to balance since work and home are fused into one. But it's hard to explain to close-minded people. So never mind what they say.

Ignore the judgmental people and do what you love to do. Where else do you write? Most of the writing sites have dried up.

Yeah, I guess that's the best thing to do. I write for my old clients whenever they send me some request.

I think you don't have to mind them or care what they think, you don't even need any kind of explaining to do so long as you love what you are doing and making a decent amount. You only need to worry if it's affecting your relationship with partner and or family or if it's causing a health problem(s).

Exactly! Maybe they are used into the idea of working hard out there not being able to enjoy life as we are doing now. I pity people who judge others without really knowing them first.

Judgmental people are what I hate the most. I'm still working on strengthening my inner self so I won't be affected by them and listen only to my own voice.

@cherriefic Let's not let them get into us. As long as we are leading a life that works for us and makes us happy and not harming anyone, we should feel good about ourselves.

Most people are so used to people having to commute to an office to work that they don't understand the concept of working from home. Nothing wrong with working from home, so long as it is legit and not a scam, and you can support yourself well with that income.

well, I think it is just the difference of working place between us. I'm working in front of the company's computer right now and I'm making a living. It is so real. Not a thing to blame. Just let it go and ignore their judgement.

@cherriefic of course. Making a living is not an easy thing I think, and we don't live depending on their words.
