Pop, Pop, Pop, Popcorn

One of my favorite snacks is homemade popcorn. I love a bowl of popcorn when I read.
Out of all my popcorn makers, the hand cranked Whirley Pop is my favorite. I have three of them!
Well, yesterday, I made a piping hot bowl of fresh organic popcorn and had just sat down to enjoy it with a good book, when my hubs returned from lunch and shopping with his friend. He bought a piece of furniture which required my attention.
I was able to return to my Whirley Pop bowl of popcorn and good book for one moment until the phone rang. I had to meet someone in our lobby for a few moments to pick up a gift.
Finally, as I made myself comfy again, the phone rang. It was an important call from my brother that I needed to attend to.
I had to throw out my big bowl of Whirley Pop popcorn and only read one paragraph of my book!
I’m going to try again, today, with a bowl of Whirley Pop popcorn and my good book just in case I can enjoy them both.
By the way, I do not like popcorn balls!

@DianneN Oh yeah, I had one once you could use in a fireplace too. Kernels got burnt!

I used to buy microwave popcorn. It's a nice snack while watching tv. But later on no one wants popcorn anymore huh.

I am with you I love freshly popped popcorn but I hate popcorn balls. I will make popcorn this Christmas for myself

Love freshly made popcorn too and can remember shaking the pan over high heat- Whirley Pop popcorn we don't have here- or at least I have never seen it. That pot looks familiar though and is very intriguing.

I will have to check out the Whirley pop. The only popcorn maker I ever had was the hot air kind..and I didn't like that really the popcorn was so bland. I think it is in a storage locker somewhere.

I like to snack when I read too. I haven't seen one of those whirly pop thingees in ages. Generally we make microwave popcorn but I do remember back in the "good old days" making popcorn on the stove with a little bit of oil and kernels. I scorched that pot so many times my kids still remember our "popcorn" pot.
