Yay! Hubby's Surgical Procedure is Done

I just got a phone call from hubby saying he was finished with the surgical procedure one his eye. He had some protein deposits that the eye specialist he was referred to earlier this month said needed to be surgically removed as soon as possible. This afternoon was the appointment. This was done with laser surgery and only took a few minutes. It was all over in less than 15 minutes. I was a bit antsy today not being there. I guess it is human nature to worry about a loved one whenever a surgical procedure is performed. I remember when my mother had cataracts removed from her eyes when I was young and she spent the night in the hospital. I am glad that procedures are much more advanced now. He is on his way home and I'm relieved and thankful that this is all done and over with. Photo: Pixabay, public domain

Very amazing. Doctor told him he wouldn't have a problem driving home either so he told me to stay home.

Yes, he was actually referred for the other eye and another problem. The specialist said this one was more urgent. He goes back after Christmas or early January. Too many appointments to remember in my head these days.

I am glad to hear that your husband's surgical procedure went well. You are right. Today everything is much more advanced. My mom also had cataracts removed and it spent a short time. But she still stayed in the hospital for a night since she was old. That's OK. It is still amazing that such kind of surgery seems to be so simple and easy today.

We had a disagreement over that but I let it drop. He just thought it was too much trouble taking my mom to one of our daughter's for the afternoon and too much running around. I'll have to cook him an extra special meal soon for that.

I would have been a bit worried too. It's only natural really. Sometimes things go wrong despite the best of treatment so there is always a bit of worry in the background.
