Buying supplies from supermarket is not a usual thing for me but I feel good every time I do that especially during occassions. Well, as expected the crowd doubles during seasons like this and you can really feel the holiday rush. I was amazed by the supply of fresh products but I'm more shock by the prices. It's "skyhigh" ! Seafoods section is where my itinerary first. I'm wanting fresh shrimps, fish, clams, and mussels. I almost cannot get the clams but I beg to the seller to give me at least few from the reserved and already paid by other customer. The price of the variety of the fish that I want gave me the vibes of hesitation. It's almost triple the price of the pork meat. God! It"s not suitable for my budget and it can drained a wallet.

@ZedSmart Same here. Fruits and vegetables are high priced but I buy them cause I need them to be healthy.

Seems like they are gouging customers. Interestingly enough, whatever is set for a traditional meal in the United States tends to be cheaper during the holidays than any other time of the year.

It's good that it's cheaper there. It should be because the volume if sales is bigger.

@ZedSmart I think that's a large part of it. They know, for example, they are going to sell a buttload of turkeys before Thanksgiving, so they will make their money on the volume alone.

Yes it was because the vendors knew the items will be sold.

Wow! Do they always raise prices during the holidays?

I think so because they know that people will buy. There maybe another reason but usually there's difference.
