My Son's Best Friend and a Special Gift

Keeping in touch with a couple of (my son), Dustin's friends helps me, as well as them I believe.
This photo shows his best friend, now married with two kids. He was coming out of a restaurant and was shocked that he saw Brett Favre.
My son was a huge Favre fan back in the day when he was quarterback at Green Bay. He kept up with all of his stats, as well as many other football players.
I have boxes filled with notebooks of his card collection. He had jerseys, caps, shirts, and I still have it all. But he didn't have a Brett Favre autograph. His friend knew this was something Dustin always wanted.
When he met Favre, he told him about my son, and he got an autograph as well as an autographed photo. My son would be so proud. His friend said he couldn't believe it when he saw him. He misses him as I do, no matter how much time has passed.
Such a special bittersweet gift. Life is about the little things.

so glad ya do keep'n touch with some 'f his friends, hon. a help to both 's yer correct, the years don't matter, that hole'n the heart still remains. fabulous he ran 'nto mr. favre 'n 'twas able to get those. i know such warmed yer heart.

That was really sweet and special of his friend to do. My son used to wear a Favre Jersey in 6th grade.
