An Easy Meal to Prepare

My lunch

I woke up late again today but still had time to prepare our lunch as my son came to eat lunch with us. I wanted to make chicken but thought, "chicken again"? I searched in the fridge and in our kitchen cupboard what to make. I saw many things like bacon slices, leftover cheese, canned tuna, potato puree, tomato sauce....I decided to bake a spaghetti with bacon in tomato sauce and topped it with the leftover mozzarella cheese. Our lunch was ready in half an hour. We ate the pasta with Mozzarella cheese and veggies salad. It is good to have basic food ingredients in the storage at home. I am sometimes so spantaneous and decide to cook from "scratch". What basic food ingredients to you always have at home? Mine are tomato sauce, sausages, canned tuna, canned beef, corned beef, different kinds of pasta, rice, potato purree, potatoes and many more. BTW, I mostly made anything from potatoes when they start to wrinkles. I can´t help it. Anyway, happy Thursday to you all. It is foggy again here. A depressing weather. Thank you.

I have a pantry that is as well furnished as a restaurant. I always have at least 6 different shapes of pasta, potatoes, onions, garlic, dry hot peppers, rice (Basmati, Carolina, plus Italian for Risotto), Bulgur, Cous-cous, canned tuna, sardines and anchovies, tomato paste and tomato sauce, canned whole tomatoes, flour, corn meal, eggs, Parmesan and butter in the refrigerator, olive oil. I am sure I forget a lot of what I have.

@thelme55 Carolina rice is the "parboiled" the one that usually is just served plain boiled.

I always keep pasta, can tomatoes, some canned vegetables (just in case even though I mostly cook with fresh or frozen vegetables) rice, dry beans (lentils and peas) potatoes, onions and fruits. Most of my food is either fresh or frozen (meats etc)

I think that was a great idea! It looks so delicious. We are fully stocked with all kinds of staples. We don’t keep canned goods except tuna. My hubs is out right now replenishing a few.
