@DianneN No worries LOL I bet it was! Back when I used to take the train to work, there was this guy who would gross me out with all his loud burping, farting, clearing of the throat etc I always made sure not to have him sit anywhere near me - YUCK!

How gross! Removing it with her finger! What was she thinking? Everyone knows the correct way to deal with this situation is to block the other nostril and blow out through your nose as hard as possible! Some people!!

She was lucky you were nice enough to mention it. It's hard to point out something to someone. I used to work with a guy who had the worse breath in the world. Everyone talked about it but no one mentioned it to him (me included). Thinking back I probably should have tactfully said something.

I agree. I would prefer to know something was wrong than go around not knowing. A teacher at school had the worst perspiration odor. Everyone talked about it, and finally the school nurse and principal talked to her about wearing deodorant. Everything was fine. I ran into her years later in a different school, and guess what? NO deodorant! Another reason to retire early!
