Why would grown men behave this way?

Last weekend I heard that a local resident in a neighbouring street discovered a group of 5 men jumping on cars causing damage. He went outside and told them to get off or he would call the police and they set upon him. As an ex boxer he managed to knock one out and the others ran off but not before one of them slashed his face with a broken bottle causing a deep laceration and he has now had to have stitches.
I cannot believe that grown men would behave in this way but luckily one of the men dropped his phone so I think these people will be caught. I hope they get what they deserve. This kind of behaviour is outrageous.

I think they will as they have the phone of one of them. I am waiting to see if a new report goes up on the police facebook profile.

@lovinangelsinstead21 He was actually a boxer and could handle himself but I suppose being slashed in the face was unexpected so he was caught off guard.

Yes I haven't seen any other information on it but I saw the cut and it was quite deep. He will have a scar.

There is a picture of him on facebook and he looks really badly hurt. I know him slightly. He was well able to defend himself normally but 5 was just too many.

@sprite1950 I tell my husband all the time to avoid to enter into arguments with people, better to immediately call the police.

@LadyDuck I don't like to get involved in arguments either. Some people are so violent and you never know what they will do while angry.

That is horrible. I am glad he got one and that the others ran away. That is horrible what one did to him. I hope they do get caught.

Yea I haven't heard anything more about this so I don't think they have been caught but the man is scarred for life now.

That's really horrible. I can think of a few reasons that grown man act that way but none of them good.

@WorDazza There were other neighbours out in the street who would back him up because their cars wre being jumped on so I think he will get a lot of support.

Hey you, still here then! Yes I did wonder about that but the 5 of them attacked him when he shouted at them to get off the cars. Wouldn't that be self defence?

@sprite1950 You'd be surprised! If he has no witnesses then it's his word against theirs and if the one who got knocked out decides to be awkward he could file a complaint.

We don't really get gangs where I live but I think it was a group of men who had been out drinking and became destructive.

To injure someone like that is unforgivable. At least they have the phone of one of them so that should make it easier for the police.

They ran away and we don't have an update on what has happened since. One of the men dropped his phone though so I think they will get them
