Waiting for my salary day

As the month end is approaching soon I am waiting for this week to pass so the salary day is near. Once the month passes the mid, I start to feel the crunch in my balance. After paying everyone and for everything we hardly save any money. But this time I have decided to curb a lot of expenses I want to start saving for my travelling this year. Do you save anything by the end of the month?

So true. All these bills and chores make it impossible to save anything

I don't work so there is nothing to put away. However, I try to spend as little as possible of my savings. Hard to do. Sometimes I spend way more than I should.

Do you earn from any other online sites so you have money at hand?

I haven't saved much this month but I am trying. I'd like to save double what I did last year if I can. It can be hard, especially when you run out of expenses to cut but still there's not much left! My income is OK but it would be nice to save without having to dip into savings to pay bills. I have the little that I saved last year - and it was nice that I had it to spend on a treat. If I save double this year, it might pay for a short break.

@Archie0 I just keep it in savings. I wouldn't dare invest - apart from not really having enough to do that, I like to know it's accessible if I do need it.

Do you invest somewhere or just keep the money in your savings

I have a savings account which I never touch as it is for emergencies. Every now and then I put any spare money I have in it.

You know, I am planning to open an account like this soon. My husband is insisting on a joint but I don't want one. I have one savings account already. I think this is a good idea for me to transfer money to that account as emergency cash

@Archie0 Yes I would make it your own account. I don't share mine with anyone so then no one can tell me what I should use it for

Yes, we are fortunate to be able to save a lot at the end of the month.

If you are able to save, that is really good. We have to give some money to my husband's parents as they do not earn. But it is a little too much for two people out there

@Archie0 That’s so kind of you, and I understand. Our children are grown and on their own now, so it’s a lot easier for us to save.

Most of people are broke because it's January. Is in't it?

I agree, also for my country we get a pay raise every January. But my company does not really give us a pay raise. It is only few dollars to be specific. We only get a rise if we promote which is difficult for everyone.

@ExplorewtMe Is it at your side as well? It is very unfair and very demotivating. But I still gotta work here because then I won't be having any other job.

For me, it's a real challenge for me to save up since my current salary isn't sufficient

That is a real challenge for me to. First of all my salary is extremely less and my needs are going up more.

I save at least a third of my paycheck, sometimes even more, every month. I also save up to travel.
