Today we did 7008 steps and, according to Vince’s phone, this included 13 flights of stairs. We went to visit the family of the girl who is being married and whose wedding we will attend in four days’ time. We took a taxi out and spent most of our time with the father of the bride. The family gave us a traditional Nepalese lunch which was very enjoyable and not as spicy as some of the food we have had here.
We went to visit the Budhanilkantha Temple which is a Hindu open air temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. We filed past the statue but could only take photos from outside the fenced area. The wedding will be held in the immediate vicinity of the temple with the reception held nearby.
The reception area is owned by the father and his brother and isn’t finished yet but the father assured us that it would be ready by Thursday which is the day of the wedding.
Vince also got fitted for a traditional Nepalese outfit so watch this space for photos. Hopefully I won’t be coerced into wearing a sari but I’ll go along with whatever I can’t get out of. Haha. I have a formal outfit that I’d wear to an Australian wedding so hopefully I’ll get away with that.

So exotic a journey and experience Judy- Sorry you didn't want to wear the Sari because it will probably really suit you and it would be very comfortable--you could wear knee socks under it and no one would know--lol!

You and Vince are getting enough exercise and fun there. I am sure that you will enjoy the wedding. Will wait for the pictures.

@arunima25 We don't know the language, can't read the signs and we have to make three trips there so three taxi rides starts to add up. The next hotel is a tiny bit dearer but not having to pay for taxis will make up the difference.

@JudyEv Good to shift close to the venue. Buses might not be so comfortable and riding a local bus there might be a bit of challenge to work out because of language unless you have some local assistance. Buses might not be so convenient and safe also.

People were ringing the bell but it didn't seem to be for any particular occasion. In case you don't get time to read all the posts, here's us at the wedding. Vince wore a traditional Nepali suit. Doesn't he look cool?
The little girl is the daughter of the folks who owned the B&B we stayed at for those few days.

We are just guests. Vince met the bride's sister at a school in Lumbini a few years ago and has stayed in touch with the family ever since.
