Well, Nature Walk went really well. Children were overjoyed and excited. They really were curious and full of questions. And I could sense that they felt connected to Nature. It was a good long walk and we went slowly observing everything and enjoying it. The shady trees saved us from the sun. Though it was bearable hot
And the picture shows what we found there. A heap of fresh leaves were on ground and there were so many caterpillars there. Children were too excited to see them. They wanted to bring them to their class. I respected their decision but with a condition that they should not hurt these little beings. They were really sensible and handle the leaves with care. We had few trays to collect things on our nature Walk. We collected these leaves in one of them.
At school the other children were too excited to see what their friends got for them
So they were allowed to see them without hurting them.
At the end I brought the tray while walking back to home and dropped these caterpillars at the same place from where we picked them.
I am glad that all the back home safe and sound. And really proud of my students who despite of being so young were so careful.
Now it's another group that will go tomorrow to same place with me. Let's see what surprise do they bring.
Now this long walk makes me tired. I need a nap
Catch you later.

@arunima25 My parents always told us never to hurt an animal, not even an insect. Too many do not care at all.

They listened. They were so good behaved. You are right that parents should also teach such things to children.

I know they look creepy. I carried them and kept wishing that they should not crawl up my sleeves.

Yes. I think we should do it more often. I did it very regularly with my children at Montessori school.

I was really concerned. After all they are just 8_10 years old and they could have been playful. But they acted so sensible and mature.

You should have seen the excitement in them. It was infectious.
And the caterpillars were really treated well.

I really admired the way they behaved with these caterpillars. Some of these children are quite playful but they too were so sensitive. I hope to spot something more interesting today.

Yes. They got a good treatment and were welcomed. But they had to be back to where they belong. They are safe there.
