My Sweet Bella is Gone

It's with a very heavy heart that I have to say that we lost our sweet dog Bella last night. It all happened so fast, within three hours. One minute she was fine, the next minute she was having problems breathing. About 5 minutes later my brother came home and we rushed her to the vet. They immediately took her back and we had to wait in the waiting room. It wasn't long before they brought her back to us and said she needed to go to the animal hospital. They thought she was in heart failure. My heart dropped as I knew deep down that wasn't good, not for a dog. It took us about 20 minutes to get there and they were waiting for us. Soon the vet came out and said she was in heart failure and that there was a 50/50 chance. Of course we said do everything you can to save her. We asked to see her. It took about an hour before we saw her. We asked several times to the vet because we had so many questions. He said that while they had her comfortable, she was very sick. Her lungs were full of fluid and she was literally drowning. My brother and I decided we would wait until the morning to decide what to do. I didn't want my girl suffering but didn't know if I could let her go. We finally got to see her. She was in an oxygen thing so we could only put out hands through holes and pet her. I was talking to her and although she looked at me, I could tell in her eyes that a part of her was gone. She was still having trouble breathing. Some of the old Bella came back for a moment and twice she tried to stand up to walk towards me but she couldn't and fell down. All of a sudden we noticed a little bit of blood on her bedding. I was trying to see where it was coming from when the blood slowly started coming out of her nose. I called for the vet and when he came over he said it wasn't good at all. I asked him for his honest opinion. If she was his dog what would he do. He said he would have her put down. She was suffering. I looked back at Bella and the blood was almost pouring out her nose. My heart was tearing apart at this time and I said ok but I had to go outside for a minute first to get some air. Sorry this is so long. I'll have to continue in another post. I'm also sorry I didn't put up a picture but I just can't bear to look at any right now.
