A Hiccup With the Internet

Ugh. It was driving me insane. I HAVE to have my Internet. I could care less about TV. But Internet? It is a MUST have for me, and I was having a very difficult time in this new hotel room at Wingate getting the Internet to work. I could get it connected. I could get my VPN connection established. But I could NOT access a site and my email was not working, etc. Not sure why. So, I decided to try to Hotspot it from my phone, which usually works. That was not working either. Ugh!!!! There was some setting not right on my computer for allowing the Hotspot to work and that was the problem. I changed that and FINALLY I had Internet. Through my phone. Through my Hotspot. I was just about ready to blow a gasket.

I bet that Super 8 sounds pretty good about now? Hope the rest of your stay at Wingate goes ok. Maybe their breakfast will make up for it a bit..

@porwest Yes, I'm the same when my internet acts up. It's like asking Alexa for an answer to a question and she says "I don't know that one."

@dgobucks226 I don't have an Alexa, but I would be as frustrated with that.

I never eat breakfast. BUT, I do know the Wingate has a hot one with eggs and waffles and sausage patties. I should have went down there and made a plate for lunch at least. Not sure WHAT the heck was going on with their Internet, but it was frustrating the hell out of me until I figured out why I could not get my HotSpot to work on my phone.

I need my internet too! They should have reliable internet at the hotel or the customers would be upset! Glad you’re able to connect with your hotspot but isn’t that using your data?

Yeah. I normally do not have any problems with hotel Internet, but this one was giving me some serious problems. I was so glad to get my Hotspot working.

@infatuatedbby I am not sure WHAT was going on. I was connected to the hotel Wi-Fi, and it had a signal, but couldn't get onto any websites. Using my HotSpot on my phone does use data, but not a lot.

I guess you won't be using that hotel again. I'm glad you finally got it.

We certainly get used to have the internet. It's like we've lost a hand when we can't get on.

Other than that, how is your room? Please don't blow a gasket. Sometimes it takes a long time to get a new part in from the manufacturer. :-)

That was annoying. I am glad you have internet now through your phone. Better than no internet at all.
