My friends called me telling me that our outing would have to be postponed. Marta had a mammography test and the result said that there was a small lump. So tomorrow she will have other tests. After was the doctors say, they want to go out of town for some days with one of their sons. I told Hector that when they were back, we would resume our teas at my home. We can have better teas (coffees) here than in that place we go. The last time Hector asked for churros and they were of the consistence you sometimes get when you put dough in the microwave oven. Maybe that´s how they heated them. So I also promised that I´d make churros for him. And I can also make a real chocolate with dark chocolate as it should be. So, meanwhile, here I am mylotting.

Churros heated in the microwave surely get a poor texture.

@LadyDuck The wheat doesn´t heat well there. But rice does better.

Hector told me that it was not of a big concern, but still the doctors have to check it.

I will keep my fingers cross for Marta. Sometimes it is just a harmless cyst, My granddaughter would love you as she loves churros.

Oh, heating bread in the microwave will ruin the texture. We tested that with a donut. For churro it is the oven toaster.

Home-made food is often far superior to anything you can buy.

@marguicha I hope all goes well for Marta. I love churros that are properly made, and chocolate. It's hard to get them just right in shops and cafes.

I make them well. I have a good oil heating and the raw churros ready to fry when the people sit at the table. No reheating. When they are done, I sprinkle them with sugar. The chocolate is also made at home, with cinnamon sticks and a clove or two. Just before serving I add some corn flour to thicken it.
