Good morning, dear lotters.
This is not a good beginning of the day for me. There are flour moths inn my pantry.
This means that I have to take everything out, Look at it (specially food that has flour) and maybe throw away some of it.
I hadn´t had this problem for many years, ever since I had a friend to live with me. I then learned that you cannot hoard pasta or rice, specially if the supermarket is 5 blocks away.
I remember writing about this in the first mylot. There was a Chinese mylotter who had a grandma who cultivated rice. She said that her grandma had to take the rice to the sun every year before she sold it. Another person, here, an American, had worked for years at Pillsbury and the air was filled with flying months
I don´t find the moths specially gross. But there are those worms that make you think about eggs and the whole inedible thing. No, I don´t eat bugs.
So, to work. Probably all this is part of the excess heat.
See you.

@marguicha I always find some in Summer, sometimes it's the flour.

At least I can do that to see what is spoiled. But then I would throw it. I know that maybe there will be eggs remaining. And flour is not that expensive.

@marguicha I would do that too now but we were a long way from town and Mum was never one to waste anything - even weevilled flour.

I think I will have to throw away a lot of food. I´m sure this started with the way Daniel kept food.
Not that I didn´t tell him.

@DianneN I know. I was raised in a world where we had to take care of what we had.

Yes, we had moths for a couple of years after I took some food goods home that my mother-in-law had in her cupboards for many years.

I think that these moths were brought by Daniel when he moved in.

Do you mean there are eggs of the moth in the flour? How could ypu temove it? We once bought a pack of flour with black bug inside. We had to throw it.
