A Donut is a Do Not

I took a donut home from a party last night. It was covered with glaze and looked delicious. I ate it this morning for breakfast. After that, I was very dizzy and disoriented when I went shopping with a friend. I am so happy that she helped me with my groceries and stuff. From now on, a donut is a do not for me. What about you. Can you eat things like that? Did you ever go against your diet? Is a donut a do not for you?

I avoid high sugar dishes. They are do not for me. They are hard on my diabetes.

Yeah, mine too. I wanted that donut so bad. It was like I have no self-control.

@avi256 I use it but there are chemicals in it that might not be good.

A donut is not a do not for me. But I AM on a salt restriction, and SOMETIMES when I splurge on the salt thing, I know it right away. Gets me back on track at least.

I do much better eating a salty treat than a sugar-glazed sweet.

@akalinus If I still had a sweet tooth I might go for a donut. But I have kind of lost it. That being said when I DO have a donut, it's usually a Krispy Kreme one. Just something about their donuts.

As much as I love donuts, they are pretty hard on my glucose level.

@akalinus For me I learned diets are not the answer. I have given up things and found a new way of eating. I can eat donuts but maybe half one day and half another.

I love them, but in my current diet mode, I am not eating them. I have a few tucked away in the freezer. When I decide to cheat, they are there.

Not usually. I wonder if they were 'special' donuts. Some people think there might be something added to it.

I ate three donuts this morning. No issues for me, other than the burst of energy from the sugar rush.

I would love for things to happen like that in my life. I have to live with the reality that I can't do that anymore. Enjoy it now because someday it might be different.

@akalinus It won't be long before I have to cut my sugar intake considerably, as my glucose levels in my blood have slowly been creeping upward over the past few years.

I know what you mean, do not eat this and do not eat that. Too much sugar or too much fat. Then some foods have nasty bacteria and others are tampered with. It is enough to make your head spin.

@akalinus yop. I am limited to 40 carbs per meal, I do not know what a doughnut is, but I am not willing to give up nutrition for sugar so it really does not matter.

Perhaps you need a donut remover? (Been watching the 3 stooges way too much) Not currently on a diet but cutting back on unhealthy food. I do however have a sweet tooth and I have found some amazing vegan doughnuts (even though I'm not vegan).

I think it is from a high sugar rush. I do not eat many donuts anymore. I hardly ever think of them much now.
