I was just looking through my photos and saw this. I love this photo. I remember quickly taking this photo as it looked as if she was peeping around the corner to watch me. I love my cat so much. Late last year she wasn't well. We don't know what happened exactly but the vet assumed it was from a cat fight but my cat ( Leilah ) was laying next to me on the lounge and I noticed her eyes rolling around. And then at the vet we saw she had a bleeding wound under her chin. It scared me so much and made me cry. It always makes me cry seeing any type of animal being hurt but obviously I was worried about my own cat not acting like herself. She is all good now but ever since that night, I've been more protective of her. Not that I wasn't before! I was always keeping an eye on her and running outside if I heard those cat screeching sounds and making sure she's inside if the weather is bad outside. But that night just scared me a lot and I worry about her even more. When my dad was in hospital in January, she was following me more than usual so I'm guessing she was sensing my sadness and stress. So she can be sweet at times lol Anyway I am rambling sorry! I basically just wanted to share this photo because it makes me smile.

@VivaLaDani13 I see her. Sophie does that too. I agree it is very hard to see animals hurt. I am so glad she is good now. I love the name you gave her. Animals have a way of sensing how we feel. I do not feel you were rambling. You love your cat and wanted to share it with us. Thank you for the photo.

@Hannihar Thank you so much. But have to say, I didn't name her. Which actually made it easy lol I've never named an animal before. She was given to us by a neighbour we used to have. Well no sorry, she was first given to another neighbour, and then those neighbours gave Leilah to us as her daughter was allergic to cats at the time. Thank you so much!

@Hannihar Yeah sort of. I am glad I ended up with her. I know about Sophie. But I still find her behaviour normal cat behaviour. A LOT of cats are very independent. But nah Leilah doesn't really misbehave but she does like her space a lot of the time. I mean she will bite sometimes but playfully. She rarely does that to me though lol But she has bitten me but not hard enough to hurt me. It's funny because she will be playing with my dad like bumping her head into his hands and then try to bite his fingers.

@VivaLaDani13 Sounds like Leilah bounced around before she came to you. Does she bite or misbehave or try to push you away thinking you will abandon her? Sophie never learned manners and probably wonders if I will abandon her too. Even though she can be very bad I still care for her and will not abandon her. I see this elderly dog that I thought went away to die still around and feel so bad for him or her. I cannot bring her in because Sophie does not get enough attention from me as it is and do not want to make her jealous. I just feel bad for the dog. You are welcome. The only animal I did not name was my cat before Sophie. My ex husband's daughter named her. She gave her a name that is very common among animals here. Her name was Mitzi and she was so so sweet.

Such a cute cat! But I do have one question....does she have an Australian accent when she meows?

@VivaLaDani13 That would be funny to put cats from different countries together and see how they all sound compared to each other. Or any animal for that matter.

@moffittjc Apparently cows sound different in America than they do here. But I've no way of confirming that.

@moffittjc oh man that made me laugh lol I wasn't expecting that! But good question! I may need to hear an American cat meow to see if there is any accent.

Cats are lovely, if she went outside it surely was a cat fight. The cat of my neighbor had a scratch on his head two weeks ago, he is fine now.

@VivaLaDani13 I have no idea which cat scratched the head of poor little Bubi, it is true that he is a small cat, but bossy.

@LadyDuck I am so glad he is fine! I know cats do this but I always worry about it when my cat is involved. I know which cat it is too. Haven't seen him / her in quite some time but so I do hope it's ok but also hope it will stay away from my cat!

It's a very cute picture. I'm glad she's all right now. I'm sorry she had some trouble last year. Animals, cats, and dogs are good at sensing when people are hurt, sad, not well, and will do that or snuggle up with you and do their best to make you happy and well.

@VivaLaDani13 I'm not surprised she did. I can't tell you the number of times either Rascal or Pip came and laid next to me when I wasn't feeling well. In a matter of hours, I was good as new.

@just4him Thank you so much Valerie! I am so glad she is alright too. And you are very correct about that. She has done this to me a handful of times when things weren't going too well. I remember when I was a teenager, I can't remember the reason but I was very sad. She jumped up next to me and put her paw on my hand lol It might be a hard thing to believe but it happened. It was so cute.

@DocAndersen Thank you. And he is doing well thank you kindly. He is actually stuck with Jury Duty at the moment lol He went Monday and going again tomorrow but he isn't actually selected yet or told he isn't being selected. He still isn't out of the woods yet with his foot though. But otherwise, he is doing good.

Our pets can really be endearing. So much so that when they are in pain we are also feeling their pains. That's a cute picture indeed. So candid.

Cats are really good at sensing when we are sad or unwell. One of my friend's cats spent an entire day laying near me one day when I was really sad. She just stayed right by me, purring and making me feel loved. I am glad your cat is doing better, and I completely understand you feeling so scared and worried at that time. I don't have any pets, but every pet I have had in the past have been like my little child.

@ScribbledAdNauseum So true! They really are good at that. And how adorable is that! What a beautiful cat to do that for you. So sweet! Thank you for sharing that. Made me smile! And thank you so much. I am very happy she is all better now from that. I feel the same like you've felt about your pets in the past. They aren't just animals that live with us. They are family.

@VivaLaDani13 Yes! My friends animals are my "furnieces and furnephews". That's what I consider them because my best friend is like my sister. Animals have feelings and souls just like we do. They hurt, and they know when we hurt. They are more compassionate than humans are I believe. Here's a cute little moment from several weeks ago. A friend and I were at her house and I sat down to pet the dogs. I was telling one of the dogs how pretty she was and how sweet she was. One of the other dogs whined at me and nudged me as if to say "Excuse me but that's ME!" (He gets told the most that he's sweet and handsome.... he is spoiled rotten).

@ScribbledAdNauseum "furnieces and furnephews" So adorable! I haven't heard those before! I love it! I completely agree with you too. Animals can be so compassionate too. They are so amazing. I really get heartbroken when humans mistreat any animal. LOL! So cute! Yeah I believe dogs can get quite jealous. A lot of the time when I'm trying to spend time with my cat, my dog will run over to try grab all the attention instead.
