Do You Observe the Holiday?

Today, when I got to work, I went straight to my workstation. Logged in. Checked Outlook for updates. Checked mailbox for customers' email/query/request. It is zero. Wow! amazing I said. It's Monday and we are suppose to be handling more request by now. I asked my workmates if they had closed out all tickets. One said, we have minimal mails since the start of business day.
Where are the customers? And then I checked, it's holiday in the US. However, we are suppose to get emails from the Asia Pacific and Europe even the Middle East customers.
And today I learned that not all states in America celebrate or observe President's Day. All observe it but DE, GA, IA, IN, KS, KY, LA, NC, NM, RI, WI.
I did not know that Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Rhode Island and Wisconsin don't observe the holiday.

When it is holiday in your customer's country that means you get a rest from work with pay?

We still go to work. We are not suppose to take an off because our desk needs people for customers in case they need manpower to check their business.

If it's a national holiday we do observe it. But when it's a local holiday we don't for we're not affected or involved.

That's right. Like Manila Day, only people or offices in Manila are privileged to take a day off/holiday leave.
