Euthanasia, yes or no?

Good day friends I spent most of the day here today. I have cleared all notices and will now read your discussions. In the morning I went to my uncle's to see how he was. I go every day, but it's not good. He can no longer eat or even drink water. Hopefully God will release him from his torment. Is there euthanasia in your country, and do you support it?

There is no euthanasia in my country. Some Danes travel to Switzerland, because euthanasia exists there. The people who travel to Switzerland are very, very ill and weak and they are actually too ill to travel, but it is the only option at the moment.. I support euthanasia and I hope that it becomes available in my country one day.

@Porcospino A team of doctors here are in charge to decide if they can accept the request for euthanasia and ONLY the person concerned can ask. This is to avoid abuse from greedy family members. In the case the person is so sick not even to be able to ask, a commission can decide if they judge that it is a legit request from the family.

It doesn't exist in my country either, but I would really like to see it introduced in our country. Many go through real hell because of their illness, and that would make it easier for them.

@LadyDuck That makes sense. Otherwise some family members might abuse it. A Danish politician wants to introduce euthanasia here. She has terminal cancer and she has decided a long time ago that she will ask for euthanasia in Switzerland when the time comes. A euthanasia law in Denmark will not help her personally. She will die before euthanasia becomes legal, but she wants to make euthanasia available for other Danes. It won't be easy, because many other politicians are against the idea.

Yes, euthanasia is possible in Switzerland and yes I support it. We have pity for animals and we avoid to make them suffer, why not for humans?

I absolutely agree with you. People here generally find it inhumane, and I don't understand it. So is it humane to watch our family members torture themselves and not be able to help them?

@Nevena83 When you know that someone has to die, why to make that person suffer? I know that I would have helped my mom, it broke my heart to see her like that, but in Italy it is a crime.

I'm glad to hear that, because I really think it's help to those who are no longer helped.

@just4him I agree with you, but then why do some people make it easier for animals and they are God's beings?

@Nevena83 I have not really thought about it. For me as a Christian, it is still killing.

That means you don't support it? But it's not killing. It is a relief for someone to suffer no more. People put their pets to sleep because they don't want to suffer, why don't people deserve dignity?

I do think that euthenasia is done when you have sickness and you do not want to suffer anymore that you induce yourself to die early on. But I know most medical practitioner would not do that but they can just let you die of natural causes because your case is hopeless already. I do not think that is euthenasia when doctors give up on your since they have done their best to restore you back but could not do so anymore.

People who have cancer, and who are unhelpful, often survive hell because their body cancels them and they can never die. I think euthanasia is something humane, unfortunately many people think the opposite.

There is no euthanasia in my country. Actually it is not legal and few countries allow it legal so far. In my opinion, I agree to the euthanasia as it is a very mercy way to release the suffering. As some diseases are so suffering and it can never be cured. The best solution is the euthanasia. It means nothing to suffer and the poor quality of life doesn't mean a thing to me.
