Has anyone else noticed that the older they get the earlier bedtime becomes? I used to be one of those people that stayed up to all hours of the night. Now, it seems that I am ready for bed right after dinner. In a way it's quite funny. When I was growing up I vigorously avoided going to bed and sleep. I did everything I could to delay bedtime. Now, as an adult, well, a senior citizen, I find myself counting down the hours until I can crawl into bed. Anyone else feeling like this?

I remember when I didn't used to go out on a weekend until 10pm. Now I have to be in bed before that!

I look forward to bedtime, but still go to bed late. Or late to me. My body doesnt let me go to sleep until at least 10pm.

@HazySue we've been more of 1030-11 the last few weeks. Not on purpose. I hate it. Especially with having to get up around 7 most days, and not sleeping more than 5 hours a night. Ugh.

I was always a sleepy head, I take naps almost every day and I sleep at least 8 hours every night, except for Saturday nights. I don't see an increase in my sleeping needs, just what I always had. And the problem is that I am always tired.

@HazySue I think the fact that my mind is constantly working has a big influence on me being tired. But I cannot state that I am a very busy person.

@rappeter13 They say mental work can make you more tired than physical work.

Wow, I wish I could get that much sleep. You must be busy all the time for you to be tired even though you had a good amount of sleep.

@HazySue My bedtime is 10 pm. It's been that time for most of my life, except when I was a child.

@simone10 I used to have a regular bed time - lights out, tv off - but since I retired and am not a well as I could be I have gotten in the habit of grabbing what little sleep I can when I can.

Mine changed. I go to bed earlier than I ever did. I may not fall asleep but I am getting extra rest.

Unfortunately I have a lot of trouble falling asleep. The older I get the worse it gets. It's not unusual for me to be up all night.

I am up and down all night. I do believe that the older we get the harder it is to get the sleep we do need.

Every day is different for me. Some days I can sit here and punch away until 2am and other days I close it up at 9pm. I'm not sure if that's a sign of old age but it wouldn't surprise me if it was

Yes, we look forward to going to bed as early as we can. As soon as dogs are walked, the kitchen is clean, everyone has caught up on their paperwork, etc....it is off to bed.

I hear it set a pattern for regular periods of sleep if you go to bed and get up at the same time each day.

@HazySue I am wondering why I go to bed a lot earlier than I did before. Maybe it was because I am getting older.

@HazySue I had a lot on my mind because of the virus. I got a lot done today and had to make two overseas phone calls and got the answers I needed to know.

We go to bed later than we used to as we don't sleep well. When we were working, we didn't like going to bed too late.

I think the biggest reason I am laying down earlier is that I tire out easier. I may not sleep but I am getting some type of rest.
