It was another short day at work and I am back home. One of the students is absent since yesterday. And today we got the message from parents that it's not only a seasonal viral but the child has got chicken pox. So I guess he will be missing school for a long.
Chicken pox is highly contagious and school wants him to take a week to stay at home even after full recovery.
I am expecting someone at 11AM and it's just ten minutes left to that. So instead of picking up anything else to do, I will mylot till I hear the bell.
Later on I am planning to finish some more reading before coming to mylot. It's Tuesday and so my afternoon is free and I am looking forward to walking with my group of friends in evening
Hope everyone is having a great time in their corner

Yes. It's quite itchy. And that child as such has lots of sensory issues. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

@amitkokiladitya Hmm... It's annoying with rashes and itchy skin. It's tough for children to stop from scratching.

Chicken pox is annoying because of the rashes on the skin that is itchy. During my childhood, we get a vaccine shot in school against chicken pox.

Here also we get vaccination for it. That's why now it doesn't come in dangerous form. I had it in middle school and I remember how annoying it was. Moreover this child has lots of sensory issues. It must be tough for him and his parents.

@arunima25 when a special child gets sick, it is really a problem for the parents especially if the child is capricious or a spoiled brat.

@Alexandoy I won't call him spoiled brat. But he has severe sensory issues and some behavior are not in his control. He is also prone to seizure. And that's my worry.

@arunima25 That's good that the chicken pox didn't affect your brother. Perhaps, your mom is a strong woman.

Yes. It's highly contagious especially when one is in recovery phase. I too have heard and read about miscarriages and even negative effects on child if pregnant mom gets it. My mother too got chicken pox when she was in second trimester with my brother in her womb. But by God's grace things went well with pregnancy and the child.

@UmiNoor My mom is very strong and I have no second thoughts about it. But she was just 20 when she had my brother.

Yes. Here schools are strict about it. It's highly contagious and they don't want to put other children at risk.

It would take more than a week to fully recover. They said that person who is recovering or healing should not go to work or school because the transmission is high during that period.

Yes. It's quite contagious especially when the person is recovering from it. So it's advisable that he stays at home for couple of weeks.

Yes. So far he is the only one. It's pretty contagious and so he has to be away for few weeks.

I know you enjoy your walks very much. Sometimes our Mums (back in the 1950s) would have a party if a child has measles or chicken-pox. They believed it was best if children had these conditions while they were young so they would try to ensure their children contracted the disease.

Yes. It was the same during my grandmother days . I got it in seventh grade and my grandma called few ladies for a ritual celebration once I was okay to mingle with people and not pass on to others.

Yes. It's like a part of your life. But we have to keep a control on it so that other things are not affected.

Now a days children are vaccinated, so we don't get the dangerous form.

I wish the child get well soon.
