So, So Blessed

For the second morning in a row, I’m up at 5 AM. Tuesday isn’t like Monday, though: I’m not fighting a losing race to get to the toilet or the garbage can before “things happened.” No, I’m up this early probably because I’m all sleeped-out. That’s about all I did yesterday.
It’s funny what a little 24-hour bug will teach you. Yesterday’s escapades, other than providing a thorough cleaning of two changes of clothing and the bathroom floor, showed me that I am so, so blessed.
I had a scheduled follow-up doctor’s appointment yesterday morning. As I was sick as a dog (poor dogs, how do they get stuck with that analogy?) I wasn’t going to skip the appointment, even though I really should have. (Yesterday was one of those “have to wait until I get better” days.) While a lot of doctors’ offices might have told me to NOT sit around because of the virus I had, my doctor’s office was much more than accommodating. They put me in an unused exam room while I was waiting so I could rest. After the exam they let me rest in the exam room until I felt well enough to leave. You don’t get that from just any doctor.
Then there was the outpouring of concern here and on Facebag (as James Spann likes to call it). My messenger feature stayed quite busy yesterday, keeping everyone up to date with what happened and how I felt.
About 7 PM last night I was finally able to eat a little — very little, as in half a banana, a couple of bites of canned peaches, and about a liter of water. The water was the most welcomed thing, as you don’t really realized just how dehydrated a day of regurgitating will make you.
Most significantly, when you’re that sick I think it really makes you appreciate being well. That’s not the first time that’s happened, and it probably won’t be the last. But every time it happens it certainly makes the following days so much better as things get “back to normal.”
If you’ve ever had one of those 24-hour stomach viruses (or food poisoning), you know what I mean. If you’ve never been so misfortunate I pray you never are.
Now....where was I?
Only appropriate song title I could think of:

Yes, I lost four pounds. Not a diet I would recommend!

@FourWalls But losing more than a tiny bit is good motivation to keep it off.

I think we have a tendency to take "feeling fine" for granted so when a bug hits its a wake up to appreciate feeling good. Hope you're feeling much better today and it certainly was nice that the doctors office was so accommodating when you arrived for you appointment.
