Where did you have it last?

The photo shows a Nepali version of a banana split. Note the steel bowl. This was standard in all but the more Western types of eateries. the only connection to the rest of the post is that it looks like honey on the ice-cream.
We lost the honey this morning. Since we went to Nepal, I’ve converted to having ginger, lemon and honey tea as my first drink of the day. I quite like it and it means I don’t drink so much coffee which is a good thing. At least I think so.
But this morning we couldn’t find the honey. This was really weird as it is always in a particular spot on a certain shelf. And it’s rarely/never used for anything else.
My stock query, when something goes missing, is ‘where did you/we have it last’ to which Vince’s stock answer is ‘well, if I knew that, I wouldn’t be looking for it, would I’.
So we’re both looking all over the kitchen and I’m trying to think when we’d had it last when I suddenly remembered that, last night, we’d had pancakes for tea, as we forgot on Shrove Tuesday. The extra mixture was made into apple pancakes and we’d drizzled honey over them. We’d had tea on Stable Tables on our laps in the lounge and the honey was on the coffee table. So we’re not going mad after all – just forgetful.

I can remember the first banana split in my life, when I was 11 in the United States where my father went to work for a year and a half.

@hereandthere My parents placed us at school the second day we were there. We did not know a single word of English.

Interesting what people make as a banana split. I don't care for bananas so I never have one. Glad you found your honey. Honey keeps you healthy and beautiful too!

Glad it is late in the evening when I saw the banana split because I would have had to take a walk to Baskins that is in front of where I live. Right now it is too dark to walk along side of a holding area for when it rains into the parking lot.

I bought some honey last week. I think it is real, unless you buy it direct from the beekeeper or it is certified from a local farm, and certified organic, you never really know if it is real..there are a lot of cheap Chinese imports that sneak their way over here. It looks real to me though..Coffee is a good thing. It has lots of antioxidants in it which prevent dementia.

@JudyEv maybe withVince, you should rephrase the question to "When is the last time you remember having it for sure?"
Then be won,t get on your case hopefully.

I still have coffee but sometimes I drink too much and I get a pain in my side. It may not be the coffee but that's the only time I seem to get that pain. And you're right about honey being hard to judge. We have a lot of local honey available and I'm happy that that's not tampered with.

There is always a spot for leaving things and when they are not there we are getting so frustrated right?
It happens to me many times! It's good that you traced your steps backwards and found it eventually.
Replacing coffee with tea is much healthier.

This appears to be a very basic version of banana split icecream

@amitkokiladitya That's so true. There was plenty of evidence of that.

it happens to me when i'm multitasking. but i seem to be the only one here who is conscientious about returning things in the same spot, even if i'm not the one who misplaced it.

Been that, done that. Walking around looking for my thongs (flipflops) and they're on my feet.

I made a banana split last summer, but I do not have the metal dish called "boat".
