The news is still coming in about the tornado damage in Nashville overnight. One article got my attention.
The Green Mile (1999) was a film starring Tom Hanks. It was filmed at a Tennessee abandoned state prison. That prison got a lot of damage during the tornado. Thankfully it was abandoned.
This is all we are seeing on the news. Many schools were damaged. Some demolished. Thank goodness it was during the night.

I never realized that prison was in Nashville. For some reason, I always thought it was in Alabama or Mississippi. It's so heartbreaking to hear of all the damage that happened in Tennessee.

@CarolDM It doesn’t make it any less painful though. It still hurts my heart to see people and communities suffer.

Even had schools been in session they would have taken measures to know l keep the kids safe. Unless all the walls came tumbling down then taking cover wouldn't have mattered.
We've had two tornadoes go through my town that I know about. One mainly took clothes from the lines and blew them into roofs and where I worked at the time the heavier winds were blowing lines from trees through the front door and into our store.
The second one uprooted a tree in either side of our driveway and we were the only ones without power for three next week. But it was late spring or early summer and our neighbor brought over a heavy duty extension cord for our fridge since we had a baby in the house.
I may have driven through that one as I took out oldest child work me to get me a price at my mom's. The wind was atrocious blowing debris about but I was somewhat oblivious not realizing what was going on until afterward.
