Update on "Another CAT Scan"

I believe you would call this "erring on the side of caution". Hubby has no lung symptoms or problems, BUT when they did the abdominal CAT scan the radiologist noticed some nodes or nodules in his lungs. He has very LONG lungs. So he was scheduled for a CAT scan with contrast on his lungs. Verdict is: our primary care physician is not worried at all, but they will use these images as a baseline. Check back for same procedure in six months to see if anything has grown. Possible sources: Cutting old drywall without a dust mask (my guess) or possibly a tiny bit of asbestos from doing his own brakes as a mechanic over the years. I know no one has seen these before, and that is why I think it is something from the recent demolition here at home. So that was that, for now.

I hope it proves to be nothing to worry about.

The doctor says she is not worried about these little lumps or nodules, but will run another CAT scan in six months to compare.

It’s good a baseline was established. Something like that should be monitored.

I have a feeling it will all be gone in six months, but yes, a baseline is good.

I hope that it isn't anything serious, but it is so necessary to monitor it.

I think it's a good thing to monitor his lungs, as they never saw anything similar before.

Yep. I think this contributed to both of us getting so sick at the end of January, with a cough that would not quit. It was 90 year old sheet rock.

A few young men have had problems in Australia through cutting granite (and similar) countertops without wearing masks. At least the doctors will now keep an eye on your husbands lungs.

It is important to protect your lungs. I probably needed a mask as well.
