I had been cheated of my money

I went to a nearby coffee shop to pack my lunch.
Since I do not want to take rice, the person advised that I should take order my food in plastic bag instead of box.
I agreed and ordered Curry Veggie, 2 eggs and 2 sardines.
It was to my surprise when I learned that I had to pay $6.60. I was like "What the heck."
I grumble and can only blame myself for agreeing as I pay up and take the food home.
Never again will I visit the store.

I don't usually listen to suggestions at the counter
It's a marketing strategy making you pay more.

So they charged you more for getting the food in a bag, though you did not want rice? That is a ripoff.

Yes and they said that it is because they will store more food but it had no difference to me.

It is not likely that government is going to do anything with less than a couple of hundred dollars

@id_peace I would have complained, but I guess you had already left the food place and it was too late.
Here in the US, we still have the right to call and complain. I've done that before when I've gotten something delivered and it wasn't what I thought.

Some stores try to trick people. But if you say that you will not go there anymore, their marketing strategy backfired.

@id_peace So, they lost a client for short period income. That is bad marketing.

Now a lesson has been learned. It won't happen again. Isn't it?

I would have probably tell others through face book with that store knowing.

Well, that sucks! Why would he suggest you get the bag instead of the box? Just so he can charge you more?

I'd never shop at any place not upfront about my costs. There's a grocery store here called Dierbergs that sells meat by the package. I have NO IDEA what the price per pound is buying it that way, and it matters to me, so I never shop there.
