What did you have for lunch today?

Today was an interesting day for me. I worked at my friend's preschool, and got to be in the "big kid" room, next to my usual (these days) toddler room. Of course, when we were all outside, my toddler friends came up to the fence and talked to me, but I spent most of the day teaching "catch" (with a ball) and and building sandcastles with the older kids. But my post is supposed to be about lunch. They served us lentil bean soup today at the preschool, and it was really good. I had a table of eight kids, and only three of them wanted soup (it looked a bit too "grownup" for them). There were also strawberries and crackers, so many of my charges had strawberry and crackers for lunch. But *I* scarfed on the soup. It had meat, carrots, and onion in it, and was quite tasty. I was able to get one kid to eat some carrots and broth, after gushing about how good it was. I also worked extensively with a "troubled" 4-year-old boy. He hits other kids, knocks down their sandcastles, and gets upset and cries over random things. He's attached to me and will let me comfort him. I want to find out more about his family history, so I can know how best to help him. Oh, sorry. Too much thought. This is a food post. I had lentil soup and haven't yet decided what to have for dinner. How about you?

What a good day you had! It's good you're going and able to help the troubled child and you're good with the child. Me no lunch, but a breakfast of cold cereal today. Had to dash out for supplies before the rain hits from tomorrow and is expected to be here till coming Monday. So for dinner, I'm going to finish my poi with some smoked shredded pork and dry fish and got some rice so if I'm still hungry, I'll whip up something and eat it with my rice. Got some pickling to do so I'm going to do that when it starts raining. I'm quite sure if it's going to be rainy I'll stay home to watch Magnum PI.

It's raining in Southern Califorinia, but it was sunny and pleasant up here. I have some "cold cereal" here but I need to get some milk. I'm heading off to Trader Joe's for "supplies" in a few minutes.

Lentil soup is a good choice. We had noodles with bread and green tea afterwards. Not quite healthy yet fine sometimes.

@Marilynda1225 Glad it was good. Today's lunch was too healthy (and sparse). I'm having frozen Indian lamb curry for dinner.

@Courtlynn I used to go there when I worked in Seattle in the 1980s. It was pretty good for my young tummy. I don't do burgers as much now.

@Aleskys Now I have to think about what to have for dinner. I've eaten "light" for two days. Perhaps I will "indulge."

I had grilled cheese on rocket salad, to be precise small individual Camembert cheese grilled on a grid, not grilled cheese sandwiches. Tonight I am trying a new recipe, canned tuna and potato balls, breaded and pan fried.

@TheHorse The tuna patties has been a great experiment. I am finding a way to reduce portions of what it's hard to buy adding what I can grow in ma garden.
