No Visitors Allowed at Uncle's Nursing Home

Was reading a few stories on Facebook earlier and by accident saw a notice from my Uncle's Nursing Home. Starting today, no visitors allowed at the nursing home. I completely understand and respect this. And I saw this coming. Probably all nursing homes will do this eventually to protect the patients. What I did not appreciate was I had to read this on Facebook, nothing from the step daughters. They knew I had been playing a trip to see him. Oh well, I will wait until this all blows over and try to reschedule yet again to visit him.

Most nursing homes are following suit. Hopefully you will get to see him soon. Stay safe and healthy.

@CarolDM Obviously the stepdaughters should have told you; but you know the situation there. Not going to happen. :-(

No visitors allowed also here, also to the patients in hospitals. Better to protect those who risk more.

@CarolDM They cannot risk to get sick, there are not enough intensive care rooms for everyone in the hospital, better not to take risks.

I think that a very wise decision also. We are not allowed to visit my mother in her rest home, and the residents there are of 'good' health generally. But we all need to realize that now is the time to stay home and take good care that way.

@CarolDM I understand that, it makes sense. I just hope that our mother doesn't get too afraid or lonely as she will not comprehend why nobody is coming in to see her. It makes my heart hurt.

@Juliaacv I know, that is my concern as well. I hope the staff will explain to them and they understand.

I understand this because the elderly are the most at risk. But I don't see why all the other cancellations or closures.

@CarolDM that's where I think people are being ridiculous.

I also said I understand as well. Any events with crowds should be delayed for now until we know who is infected.

I think i understand that policy. Old people are more vulnerable to corona

Make light of their lack of concern. Give the greatest possible importance to your wishes to visit your uncle.

Yes and I have but many days he doesn't answer the phone. I try every day. He often does not know how he is doing.
