Took Elderly Neighbor to Doctor

Have been gone a few hours. Called to check on my neighbor. The one who is elderly and has pneumonia. She has family sitting with her. But her husband also needs caring for. The daughter asked if I could take her Mom to the doctor. It is only a few miles away. She was running a fever. I hesitated at first but she had a mask we could both wear. So I did it. Mask and all, off I go to the doctor. I sat in the waiting room, felt like I had the corona virus wearing the mask. But the staff assured me I did the right thing. She got some meds and wanted to go back home after her visit. The doctor wanted to admit her but she wanted to be home with her husband. So he gave her specific instructions to follow. I took her back home and gave the paperwork to the daughter and am back home now. Of course she thanked me the entire time. I hope she recuperates soon. She is close to 90 years old. Good to be back home.

Hopefully, she doesn’t have the virus. Those masks are only good to protect a person from spreading their germs. Only the N something or other can protect us. They need to be specially fitted and are horrible to wear for long. Still, it was nice for you to help out.

They did a test and said they would call her with the results. I know about the mask, but it was a short trip and the daughter and neighbor insisted I wear one. So I did. I felt good about helping her.

I hope that the woman will recover. We all wear masks to go out now, as nobody can be sure not to have the virus let's at least protect one from another.

@CarolDM We are requested not to bring elders to the hospital, we call they send a unit at the home, going to the hospitals now is extremely dangerous for everyone.

What a noble act you did for your neighbor. Pneumonia is a fatal disease for the elders.
