1889 - The Eiffel Tower is officially opened.
1918 - Daylight savings time goes into effect in the US for the first time.
1943 - Christopher Walken was born. He is an American actor, singer, comedian, director, producer, screenwriter and dancer. He has appeared in more than 100 movies and TV programs and has hosted Saturday Night Live 7 times. Some of his movies: Deer Hunter, Dogs of War, The Dead Zone, Batman Returns, Pulp Fiction, Antz and Catch Me If You Can. His movies have generated more than $1 billion in the United States.
1945 - Gabe Kaplan was born. He is an American comedian, actor and professional poker player. He is best known for playing the role of Kotter in the 1970s sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, which also featured John Travolta.

Christopher Walken was great in Deer Hunter. He received an Oscar nomination for his supporting role I believe.
I enjoyed that TV with Gabe Kaplan. Yes, the start of a career for John Travolta!
