We're going to have a dinner party

We’re fed up with the social isolation so we’re going to have a dinner party. It’s Vince’s birthday on Easter Saturday. He catches up to me and will be 73. I thought I was marrying a toyboy but something went wrong. So we thought we’d celebrate. It will give us something to look forward to.
We’ll probably have some hors d’oeuves with champagne to start with. Entrée will be prawn cocktails, then chicken schnitzel with baked vegetables. We haven’t decided on dessert yet but maybe yummy bavarois. What do you think? Does it sound good?
What a pity it will just be the two of us.

I like the idea of a dinner party. I went to the pub the other night with about 30 other people and we had a great time. Of course, we were all really sitting in the comfort of our own homes and logging on together with a very easy little app called Zoom which makes conferencing easy.
You could do the same for your dinner party with phone, tablet or laptop on the table and a few friends doing the same thing. They'd have to do their own meal and provide their own drinks, of course, but you could see them and talk to them as you eat. They could even duplicate your menu!

Yeah, it is a pity to have no guests because a party is not exactly for the celebrant but more for the guests. I would love to attend but I'm sorry that I have other commitments for Easter, waheehee. Seriously, tomorrow is Palm Sunday but it will be just an ordinary day.

@JudyEv all church activities are banned for the moment so the Lenten religious rites are gone for this year.

Sounds brilliant idea to me. A way to spoil lucky Vince. Are you going to be doing all the cooking or just helping him with the champagne!

@JudyEv
He sounds just like me! Even for my own birthday, I have to do the cooking! (I will sometimes let the wife do a roast chicken, though). Trouble is, I'm often so exhausted by the effort that I have no appetite afterwards. Never mind, I enjoy seeing other people appreciate the food.

You two lovebirds are still so young! Given the circumstances, you have come up with a nice way to celebrate his birthday! I hope you both have a great time.

Sounds romantic! If you'd like, you could invite people via phone conference?

Ik, just a thought.
It's so good to celebrate to keep spirits up.
