This Cracked Me Up!

Several mothers have asked me what to do with their children during lockdown. Having had a career as a teacher and professor, being a mother of two, and a grammy of two, I thought this was a hoot! There are so many hilarious memes and cartoons about our times now, that a bit of humor is a good thing.

And shove the subtitles on in Spanish and they're learning a language! The possibilities are endless.

I laughed pretty hard at this! Bless parents hearts, eventually the TV has to be the babysitter. My sister has done every craft project she can think of so I think the kids wore her down enough to let them watch cartoons. Actually, Hudson's preschool (for special needs) has online lesson plans for their kids and parents. Some are extensive enough to get Amyra involved, which is great.

@DianneN Amyra is already homeschooled so at least that won't be an adjustment. I think your daughter-in-law making a schedule is the right idea.

@AmbiePam Thanks! My grandson’s private school went online immediately. My granddaughter goes to public school and the NYC public schools weren’t prepared for this. My DIL found a wonderful online private school, but of course has to pay for it. I feel bad for the other kids who can’t afford it or who don’t own computers.

@DianneN Strange times for the kids I wonder how they are taking it on board. I hope it is not spooking them too much!

It is funny indeed. I don't like to read while watching a movie. Movies with subtitles are not for me unless it is a Chinese karate or Kung Fu movie.

Hubs and I just finished watching a fabulous movie called Unorthodox. Much of it took place in Berlin and N.Y. It had lots of subtitles and lots of English.

That is a funny meme and yes, we can all use a bit of humor these days. I saw this one that made me laugh...a mother asks her three year old if she understands why she can't go out. The little girl replies " yes, because of the corona pirates"

@sallypup They are tech savvy, but can’t afford computers for each student. Over 1,000,000 of them. My grandson attends a private school and they provided computers to one and all.
