Last night I was sitting in my recliner with the footrest up; and I was just getting ready to get up to go to the bathroom. We had some pretty zingy thunderstorms with a lot of lightning. I have an electric recliner; and I was just going to hit the button to bring down the footrest when the power went out!
Needless to say, I was stuck; and I was not able to use the "facilities". It was either break the footrest as I tried to climb over it or risk falling down by trying to get up with the footrest in the way...so I waited.
Fortunately the power was only off for about 2 hours; but for sure when I get another recliner, it will have a battery backup!!!
Have you ever been stuck when the power went out?

I'm not limber enough to climb out that way. I was stuck! It was dark; so my husband and I just talked.

I think I would have found a way to crawl out.

The funny things is when my power went out everything kept going because my computer is a laptop with a battery. I have an electric bed base, which may pose problems if it’s in the “sitting” position if the power goes out.

Yes getting these with batteries does make things convenient.
