My wife does not cook. When it comes to cooking in our house it is all me. BUT, she is in charge of the meatloaf. It always is something I marvel at. I can cook just about anything. But when it comes to meatloaf I fail. Can I stress she DOES NOT COOK. But her meatloaf is the best meatloaf I have ever had, is always good, and is always way better than ANY meatloaf I have ever tried to make. Which is why she is in charge of it. So, that is what we are having for dinner tonight. A 2 lb Dawn meatloaf. I wll make some baked potatoes to eat with this. But the meatloaf is all hers. Man, I cannot wait to dig in.

I cannot say I am good cook. I am struggling to cook that would impress my husband, he never likes anything. But I would love that meatloaf recipe too.

My meatloaf is different every time but always good. My husband the fancy pants once made a meatloaf wrapped and cooked in pastry. Can I say we love meatloaf. Enjoy.

@GardenGerty Not sure I have ever eaten meatloaf that way before, but it sounds absolutely delicious. As for my wife's meatloaf, she changes it up a little every time too. It's always good no matter what she does with it.

Better. It may be the only thing she cooks. But it's worth it.

@porwest I take it she is good at making meatloaf. That is a hard thing to make. Has she ever done it in the crockpot? The last time I made it I made it in the crockpot. I am glad you enjoy her meatloaf.

@porwest That is very different on the grill. I used to bake it in the oven.

@Hannihar Yeah. The grill just gives it a bit of an added flavor. Most of the time we cook it in the oven.

I have a secret ingredient in my meatloaf, and I am totally out of it right now. It's a packet of onion soup mix. How could I forget to stock up on that?

@porwest I usually buy it for $1 a box at Walmart, but I'm having to resort to ordering it off of Amazon for more.

@spiderdust I think I typically pay about 59 cents for it at Aldi. But yes, price watching is a little impractical even for me at the moment.

The way you expressed it, makes me hungry. Would your wife mind sharing the recipe any day? I have never had meatloaf ever, but if I have to can it be made out of goat meat? I wish to cook this some day and what are your thoughts on having it with mashed potatoes?

I didn't know that you did all the cooking, well except the meatloaf. If she can fix a meatloaf, I am pretty sure she could cook other stuff! Well enjoy your dinner . . . I should put meatloal on my list!

I love meatloaf, but for some reason it never turns out the same. I did recently make one that was yummy. Enjoy your supper! BTW, what is a Dawn meatloaf?

Growing up, meatloaf was a favorite meal of ours. My mom was a gourmet chef, and could create the most wonderful masterpiece meals. But she couldn't cook a meatloaf to save her life. That was the one thing my dad excelled at. So, when it was meatloaf night at our house, my dad would take over the kitchen. His meatloafs were the best things I have ever eaten! After I had gotten married, I tried making a few meatloafs myself using various recipes from cookbooks. They were utter failures. I remember asking my dad one time if he could give me the recipe for his famous meatloaf, or at least tell me how he makes it taste so good. His answer? "There's no recipe, I just mix in whatever we happen to have available in the kitchen." He could have been joking, but somehow I think he was being serious.

Amazing, I am actually in the process of wolfing down a piece of the meatloaf I cooked tonight. If hers is good as mine you are certainly gonna enjoy that.
