Okay, Now I'll Get the Stimulus Check

I never would have received it. I went onto the site that says check your pay and entered my information. They didn't know anything about me. I found that strange, but I haven't filed taxes since I retired. I figured that since I was getting Social Security that I would automatically get that too. NOT!
So, I filled out all the information for non-filers and submitted it. I got the e-mail acceptance a short while ago. So now, I will get the stimulus check.
I didn't realize I was off the grid. I wish I was off the grid for all those scammers and junk mail people.
If you haven't received your check, go to the IRS site and fill out your information.
Have you made assumptions that back-fired? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me and has nothing to do with the post.

Everyday they say something different on this..every single day. Before they said people on Social Security would get it automatically, they would use the info on file, for direct deposit as that is how most get their checks.

I read most social security was going out this last week of April and when I checked the site if it is the same as yours they only wanted those who have dependant children to file for the additional 500 per child they can receive. If I havent by the end I will file even if it says I dont need to.(If I find the right link)

I'm glad you will be getting it now. Weird they didn't have anything on you, even if you haven't worked in years.

Well, when I went into that site a week or so ago, it said if you are a SS recipient not to fill it out, that you would get it automatically. SO it sounds like they changed it. Pretty sneaky I think.

Yes, it is sneaky. Everything I read about it said it would be automatic if you're on Social Security and you didn't need to do anything. They said people on SS would get their checks on the 20th. The 20th came and went and nothing. So, I went back to the site and found new information.

Very wise of you. I'm not too concerned about ours. We file income tax each year. Haven't sent it in this year yet because of the extension. But we usually have to pay so our bank account has not been connected to IRS yet. I've been to that sign in sight but haven't filled it out yet. Needed our tax return from 2018 which I have to go upstairs to get and haven't done that yet. I figure it'll still be there.

I'm sure they have your information if you file every year.
