Received my stimulus payment today

This morning, I received my stimulus amount from the government in my checking account. I'm so happy to receive it after a 14-day wait. Both my brother and I have been in talks on what to do with the money. We have a plan.
I'm going to transfer some money in my savings account that I use for emergencies along with my father's monthly payments. If anything should happen to Wylie and I have to take him to the vet, (I hope it doesn't have to come to it, though he's a senior citizen adult male cat), I've got him covered. If anything happens to my laptop when I need it repaired or replaced, I'll use the money from there.
I'll also spend a portion on a mini shopping spree to buy clothes (2 spring PJs, 1 spring nightgown, a raincoat, 1 robe), a new pocketbook and purse, and a new microwave. I'm going to wait for sales this week and start buying next month. My brother also suggested to use some money for groceries next weekend and save my $193 that's reloaded on my EBT card every month until November this year. I won't need that money for buying monthly groceries per se, between Giant Eagle and Aldis, or even to Acme for medium shopping trips. Maybe for miscellaneous items, if I have a big list. We shall see.

Congrats on getting the money, sounds like you have thought out what your going to do, that is good. I did get mine a while ago and I have not touched it. My plan is to hold it till next year and see if they decide to tax it or not. Then I will see what I want to spend it on.

@LeaPea2417 In the past when we got one, we did not get taxed. However, I trust the government a lot less now and I could see them trying to do that. Personally I would hang on to at least some of it, just incase they decide to tax us on it. I would hate to find out I owe money back and not have the money there.

That will be hard then. How old is he? What is his name? Can I see a picture of him? Sophie gets her vaccinations every year. I want her around for a long time. She will be 6 in August and hope I will be able to go to the pet store before then to get some things for her. Our vet comes to our home.

Wow! I'm so happy for all of you. In Australia, our leaders readily approved-- no dramas, no orther demands that have nothing to do with covid virus--our PM's economic stimulus-response helping our 25 million citizens.

@everwonderwhy Not yet. I hope to order them today. I'm still checking out the sales. Not the pocketbook and purse yet. I know my brother said he would treat me with that purchase for my birthday--the same for the microwave. I'll find out this weekend when I do groceries and errands.

I don`t receive anything like that here but if ever I will receive something like that then, I will save it for emergencies and spend little for food to enjoy.

I don't know if I'll get one, but I did apply to see if I'd qualify for a non-refund one. If I do get anything, I'll save it or use it to pay down my credit card. Depending on the amount, I may do both.

You have a good plan with the stimulus.
I received mine the same day. I spent a portion of it on wants and a new laptop. I hope it works out. So far, I'm batting zero with laptops. My Chromebook is good, but my laptop, not so much. I hope this one will be a lot better.

We have that here for select people, to those who really need it. My mother received hers, shes a senior, and we spent it already.
Getting it here is not easy because it is still in cash. They need to line up in long queues and some were even rejected in the end after being in the queue for the good part of the day.

I am going to spend a little bit of it, save a bit, but most is going to go towards dental bills I am sure I will accrue when I finally get a chance to go. The good news is that my teeth are no longer bothering me in the least since I switched to the enamel building toothpaste.
