In Appreciation Of Doctors and Nurses

Today we went to the doctors for my better half to see the nurse practitioner. We were checked at the door for a fever and answered questions about where we have been and if we were exposed to the virus. We had our masks on and so did the nurse. She asked questions about my better half's health and so on.
But while we were there she sneezed twice. She had on a mask but it still worries me a little. We went on to the lab to get his blood work and the place has a lot of people waiting. Chairs were marked where we should sit to keep our distance and we were there a short time.
I really feel bad for the doctors and nurses. They work long hours and with contagious people. It has to be hard for them to go home and be fearful for their own health and for their families. Doctors, nurses and grocery store workers deserve all the credit.We are thankful they stay on the job taking care of the rest of us.

@jobelbojel This is terrible. I cannot but think that there were not enough safety measures there as there are not enough safety measures for health workers in other parts of the planet.

Yes they are. When I was a caregiver I watched out for sick people and kept them away from mine. I have not worn a mask at all.....

I wouldn't be worried about her sneezing. You were all wearing masks. So shouldn't be a problem.
Those are important people, nurses and doctors especially.

@RubyHawk fingers crossed.
Cleaners are important too. Without them, we'd all be sick.

The work that doctors and nurses do to risk their lives to cure us of illnesses is priceless.

@Deepizzaguy Our doctors are having to take a 20 percent reduction of their salary. I know it's true because my better halfs doctor told us so.

If we could do something to help them out I'd be happy but all we can do right now is appreciate what they are doing. It's hard for me to imagine going to work and being fearful of bring a disease home to my children. They must have those feelings every time they go in to work.

@Hannihar Every time we go by a hospital I see a big sign thanking our heroes. A few days ago Planes took off form Dobbins Air Force base to swoop down over all the hospitals in the vicinity. I thought that was a good way to show our appreciation.

I cannot afford to donate money. I am waiting for things to come and give me more breathing room. I have to use the money for things and also make sure have enough for my cat and myself to live. I also appreciate all those that are on the front lines dealing with this and helping those that got infected. I bet they do have those feelings.

@LadyDuck I hope your brother will be okay. I have a nephew that's a doctor and he's working long hours. I also have a three nieces that are nurses. And so many people we've had die of the virus they haven't lost a patient. It's amazing. My nieces work in smaller hospitals but my nephew works at a large hospital. I feel sure he has seen many deaths.

A lot of nurses and doctors got infected here, and it saddened a lot of people because there are hard-headed people who still want to go out because they just want to hang out with their friends, while our doctors and nurses are risking their lives to help.
