Walmart Double Charged Me AGAIN!

This is #4!
The first three times I am convinced it was a glitch in Walmart's scanning system, and perhaps not intentional. Yet, it happened.
The first two occurrences were on a 30 pack of Bush beer three weeks apart. I was doubled charged on both occasions.
The third time I was double charged for my Great Value 2 lb pack of ham.
On all three of those occasions the items showed up consecutively.
This 4th time I do not think it was a glitch, nor do I think it was intentional. But it is still frustrating.
The cashier rang up my fish (according to the receipt), a 4 lb bag of Tilapia for $12.24. Then he rang up my box of beef patties twice by accident. He caught that and voided the second entry. But then right after that rang up my fish again.
Intentional or not it is just frustrating to me. If I had not caught these errors by now I would be down $55.22. The ONLY thing that bothers me is that it is ONLY THIS Walmart at 2608 Green Mount Road in Belleville, Illinois 62221 that this happens to me.
YES. I did indeed call them out by location.
I tried to call the store manager but no one answered after three attempts. My only recourse is to go back to the store to the customer service desk and try to get my $13 back.
Any other time this would still be a hassle. But with the current circumstances this is a REAL pain in the butt. Ugh. Oh well. But it's enough money that I can't just sit on it. I will have to go back and try to get my money back on this.

I think being double charged is a human error, not a glitch in the system. That's why I always check my receipts before leaving the store. I keep an eye on the register when the person scans my stuff but without glasses and because they sometimes scan too quickly I can miss something. Better to do self-checkout but that doesn't mean things are scanned without price issues. Sometimes you gotta call for help to adjust the price or check out and then go to customer service to get money back.

@porwest From now on, do not leave the store without checking them. I try to keep an eye on the screen when the cashier checks me out as I'd prefer to take care of issues before I pay. But don't always notice everything, especially without my glasses. If there is an issue I see after I have checked out I go back to customer service, even if the amount is small. It's the principle of it. Why should I pay more for something? Also, if you let many of small differences go they add up to a bigger amount.

@lovebuglena The last part is really the key. These things start to add up to costing quite a lot of money, and we all work too hard for our money to simply give it away.

I tend to agree. OR they are intentional glitches if you want to call them a glitch. All I know is that it is a real pain in the butt when it happens, and very frustrating to boot, and shame on me for not being more vigilant checking my receipts.

@Nakitakona Unfortunately this particular time I decided I just didn't want the hassle of going back to get my money, so I just paid $24 for 4 lbs of tilapia. Ugh.

It always is said of the consumer that the consumer is smart. But when you look at the WAY things are marketed and that a LOT of people fall for it, I don't think the average consumer IS that smart, and the companies KNOW this all too well and take full advantage of it. It is ultimately my responsibility to check my receipt before I leave the store. Usually I do. It's only when I don't that this sort of thing happens. Really frustrating.

Yes, it is a pain to try and straighten things like this out. Good luck! They are usually very accommodating.

Maybe their system has an issue with the barcodes. You really have to check everything now or you'll get ripped off.

That is so aggravating! Bad enough to be overcharged so many times, but then to have to go back to the store again.

When that happens, I wouldn't go back there again.
