Finally Talked to my Uncle's Nurse

I wrote about my uncle going into quarantine last week (nursing home) after testing positive for COVID-19. He has a new room number and I have been calling every day, several times a day to talk to him. Never an answer. As some know, the step-daughter did not add me to the call list, so the nurses cannot tell me anything. Today I talked to the CNA that answered the phone. Explained my situation, how far away I am, etc. She put me on hold to get the charge nurse. After holding twenty minutes, the nurse came to the phone. She asked several questions, who are you, your relation, etc. Finally she told me how he was doing. He ran a fever over the weekend. But the fever is gone today. He will be re-tested in one week (Thursday) and when he tests negative for COVID, he will be taken out of quarantine and back to his regular room. That was all I needed to know and I thanked her very much. His good physical health is helping him fight this virus. I hope he continues to do well. The talk made me smile.
