Serious Funny

What does your mask look like? Obviously, the pandemic is serious, and nothing is fun about it. But I have seen some very funny patterns on masks people are wearing. I think it makes things less scary for kids too. My mask is a simple surgical mask one of my nurse friends sent me. My dad's wife made one out of a red bandanna and rubber bands. However, my dad doesn't have one. So I bought one online today (no one can find them in stores around here). The background of the mask is a simple beige, but it has a "hipster" mustache printed on it too. My dad is a funny guy, and I thought of it made someone smile he'd be more likely to wear it.I What does yours look like? Do you have more than one? Have you seen kids dealing with it well?

I've made several different styles and enjoyed creating. My fave is the last one, a fitted style out of a red print tee shirt. I love those long bandana types that make the bottom half of your face look really strange.

I have seen several funny masks here. One woman yesterday walking near the market was wearing a mask with a beard and mustache.

That's a perfect mask for your funny dad! We save the typical surgical masks for when we really go out in public, like shopping. But otherwise we use the ones I've hand sewn - and I used my son's old clothing and sheets. Now that I'm down to just the sheets, I think we're going to tie die them or do something so it's not so plain. These are all that my kids have worn - and they are fine with it . . . but they never have to wear them for a super long time.

We each have a navy blue mask, no designs on the fabric, just plain, I have a green mask, which is like a tye-dye fabric. We have 3 packages of the blue medical disposable masks. And I have a 4-pack of 3-ply washable fabric masks on order that should be delivered this week. They are plain white. I ordered them for the second spike which is expected in the fall.

Wow, you are prepared. Maybe I should invest in more masks. I hadn't even thought ahead to fall.

@AmbiePam The ones that I bought for the second spike are thicker, and maybe will be a bit warmer. And then of course I am also looking for some more cotton masks for the third spike, next year at this time. I think that our masks will become a big part of what we never leave home without. Like going out without a scarf during January.

We haven't been required to wear them here - at least not in my town. I know there are some very cute designs around.

We're not required to wear them either. The only time I wore a mask is when I went for a pedicure they asked customers to wear them. I have heard a lot of places are making people wear them, but Oklahoma has not done that yet.

Mine is a light blue surgical mask. I would love to have something jazzy though. I saw one I liked with one of the local college sports teams initials in the corner, in school colors..

I've seen some pretty funny masks too and it's comical how ingenious some people are. I think masks are going to become a fashion statement since we'll be wearing them for awhile.

I've always kept masks on hand because I wear them when I clean the litter boxes.

That sounds hilarious! I have enough blue, white, colored, and solid colored masks for me and hubs to last through a few more pandemics. I like to match my outfits while protecting others. Right now, I’m waiting for a Burberry mask to be delivered. I do love my designer looks.

I ordered mine a couple of days ago. It's a galaxy pattern.
