I Do Not Have a Vegetable Garden Anymore

I used to have a vegetable garden, but do have a few herbs. Just now, I took my garden shears outdoors and snipped chives. I washed them thoroughly, dried them in a paper towel, and snipped them. Tonight we are grilling ribeye steaks that we ordered from Omaha Steaks, restaurant sized baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, and my chives, and roasted brussel sprouts in olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, Parmesan cheese, and honey. I know. I know. But we walked an extra 4+ miles with our son this afternoon. I’m not counting calories! What’s cooking at your place?

@JudyEv I didn’t realize that. I do eat pork chops, ham, and once in a blue moon some bacon. I actually had bacon wrapped filet mignon on Friday night.

@DianneN No, not at all but steak is really expensive here. Mostly we eat chicken and pork (which I know you don't) I sometimes have a steak if we go out but it's even more expensive then.

Nothing is cooking for the next couple of days, but I am going to craft up some awesome salads over my weekend. I wish I had a garden...Especially for things like herbs, basil, etc.

It's nice to have a vegetable garden but it is not easy to tend it every day.

Exactly, especially when you don’t live near it for six months of the year.

I wish I had vegetable garden but that’s impossible when you live in a big city It's late here now, I'm planning a fish with vegetables for tomorrow

It can be difficult in a big city and also splitting your time between two homes. Your dinner sounds great for tomorrow. Goodnight and sleep well.

It is so nice to have a vegetable garden. You can grow new vegetables again after you harvest the old ones.

I couldn't eat another bite, had a huge porkchop for lunch with trimmings of course. Then my son and son in law took me out for ice cream. That baked potato with homegrown chives sounds delish though. Someone gave me a bulb of wild garlic the other day, I was tickled pink with that.

The water that flowed from our neighbor's gutter due to a heavy downpour splashed away some of our plants. We ended up harvesting the damaged one, lol it was not enough for 2 servings of leafy salad.

That's fantastic that you have your son there. Herb gardens are delightful. I picked chocolate and apple mint for my hubby tonight. He loves to stick their leaves into his hot black tea.

@DianneN Yes mint is a ground cover and just like oregano, grows so well it might as well be a weed.
