Breaking news - out our window this morning

We are ready to leave the house and do some work outside but now there is a young kangaroo having a sunbath just off the front verandah. There are three others in the garden – two does and another joey. Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to have another coffee until they decide to leave – or I guess we could always go out the back door.

The ones here are not really used to humans and flee as soon as they see us. It is only those that have lost their fear of humans or have been mistreated or cornered that are dangerous. They actually make lovely pets if they are raised from a baby. Here is a friend with one.

@kepweng That's true but most are very timid and run away from people. I don't think it is quite correct to say they are dangerous.

Won't they be scared off as soon as you go out the door? Or all they going to attack you if you go out on the front verandah?

They would run off if we poked our head out. We stayed inside for 10 minutes and when we next looked they had all disappeared. So then we had to go out and do some work!!

How nice is that? My screen saver changes every few days. A couple of days ago, Iguazu Falls was on my screen and when I opened up Marguicha had written about them.

@kobesbuddy Have you ever noticed the eye-lashes on a camel? They are REALLY long. I guess they help keep the sand out of their eyes.

It's amazing to us in the US to see kangaroos in your yard; but I suppose they're like deer that we see in our yards!

Yes, that's true. We have kangaroos but you have deer. They can both be destructive to gardens.

@LindaOHio These run away too. The only ones that would stand up to you would be males that have lost their fear of humans. They are not to be provoked. Some frequent golf courses and players go around the roos rather than get too close.
