Where would you go if you had to move?

I remember talking with my friends as a child, and we talked about where (what country) would we live if we couldn't live in the United States. Canada would make the most sense (I'm not living in Mexico although visiting is nice), and I would want to live somewhere that English was the primary language since it is the only language I speak (maybe I'd learn French in Canada). I loved Australia when I visited the country, but it gets hotter there than where I live (in Oklahoma). If language wasn't a barrier, Switzerland always seemed so gorgeous. There are so many beautiful countries around the world it would be hard to choose. Obviously, I don't see myself leaving America, but as children we come up with a lot of scenarios.

I would never live in Canada or Mexico. I’ve been to almost every country in the world and there is no place better than the good old USA for me. I love my country, despite our President. There are so many beautiful places to see, but there’s no place like home.

I didn't want to talk down about Mexico, but it's way too dangerous to live in, including the nice places.

@AmbiePam The Mexican Riviera is stunning, but all of Mexico has become too dangerous. The history of most countries is what interests hubs and me, as do the cultures, traditions, customs, food, and shopping. lol. We have enjoyed every place we have visited. Dreams do come true. We are interested in visiting Antarctica next, but not until the virus is long gone. Hubs still wants a co-op in Manhattan so we can spend weekends with the kids, but two states is more than I can handle.

Another planet . Hubby and I talk about this all the time . . . we've never left our childhood area (to live) which is this Valley. Most likely we would stay in the US . . . but oh there are so many wonderful places out there in the big wide world. I will say we would never choose a super cold place - I wouldn't survive!

@LadyDuck Right? And it'd probably best not to let people know which one - too many may follow .

Another planet sounds to be the best choice... an unknown one even better.

I have never ever considered where I would like to live if it were not here in Canada. My son tells me that life in Poland would be wonderful, they visit every other year.

I would love to return to my native Panama since there are many American citizens who are either former U S soldiers or employees of the Panama Canal Company. One catch is that due to the Coronavirus, it is impossible for that dream to come true during this pandemic.

I am pretty sure it would be Canada..unless my son ends up living semi permanently in Brazil, then it would be there! The UK would also be a good choice.

Mmm--well, Canada is where the majority of my mother's side of the family is. Wouldn't mind living in New Zealand for other reasons. ;) They speak English in both places.

Most people here in Switzerland speak English and all official documents are also written in English, you would have no problems living here. When I was young I loved to stay in my country (Italy), when I was a little older I thought that I would love to live in Switzerland... here I am now.

I would love to visit different countries, but if I had to move, it would be several acres in the country between Myrtle Beach, SC and Charleston, SC. I'd love to be able to visit our daughter and her family more often, just not live in town.

Hopefully I'll never have to move again as I love where I live now. The only time I think about moving again is when I have to climb up and down the stairs and think it would be wonderful to have a house with everything on one floor. It's more likely I'll get a moving chair at some point rather than pack and move somewhere else. I have no desire to live anywhere other than here in the US

I'd love to live in Switzerland as the views are stunning. But I'd rather stay here in PH - just as long as it's away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
