My neighbor shares his garden tomatoes every year. It will be several weeks before they are ready to pick from the garden.
On the way home from the appointment yesterday there was a fruit stand. They had "fresh" tomatoes. Who knows where they come from but I decided to take a chance. Better than buying in the grocery store probably.
Decided on a tomato sandwich with sourdough bread for dinner. I tasted one of the tomatoes last night and it was delicious. The sourdough bread makes the difference in my opinion.

That sounds delicious. I love sourdough bread. I first had it in Monterray, California.
I'm waiting for my heirloom tomatoes to grow large, ripe, and juicy.
We are having the hotdogs that came with our Omaha Steak order tonight. Haven't had a hotdog in years.

@CarolDM Definitely!
I have to be honest. The Omaha Steaks were nothing to write home about. I will check online for prime steaks, etc. from New York and elsewhere. The steaks from Costco were better and of course, from our butcher.
O.S. are good in a pinch.

@jayanth_77 Yes it is absolutely delicious. Does not taste sour. It is actually healthier than white bread. But I love the taste. You use a different yeast that white bread. It just has a better texture to me.
Sourdough bread is rising in popularity. This old favorite form of bread is considered healthier and better tasting than the traditional style of white

That sounds good. I noticed a blossom starting on my tomato plant. I need to spray it tonight with Yuk spray..because I don't trust the squirrels not to help themselves. It has happened too many times.

I am SOOO ready for fresh tomatoes from our garden. Did you make the sour dough bread? It looks so good. Who needs meat in a sandwich when you have fresh tomatoes?

@CarolDM you are the kindest person - we end up driving to New Jersey (four 4 hours) and stocking up once or twice a summer.

My daughter has been on a tomato sandwich kick lately. So far the tomatoes we've gotten have been delicious which is a surprise since they came from the supermarket
