myLotters are Choosy

Sometimes I do not want to post any discussions here. Why? I got only three or four comments. Are we choosy to check a myLotter's discussion? Perhaps if I have a problem, you cannot help me virtually. You may not see this because it will be deleted anyway. It is not allowed to rant here.

I agree. I had seen those posted discussions. We tend to have our own dark sides sometimes.

@Shavkat I don't call it dark, just need to speak our minds sometimes.

The site barely recovers every since it came back, The site use to be more active because categories helps people find same birds of the same feather. Now we are scattered and left to rely on tags.

@Shavkat This new format is just not good, When we have categories with old mylot, People who have the same interest finds each other.... People find their niche. Look at reddit, they have subforum for all kinds of communities. We lack communities here because Mylot thinks Tags is enough. These tags don't even show up in search engines.

I agree with you. I do miss the old days. Where are the active mylotters? Reminsing things in the past is fine. Hopefully, it will happen the same thing in the future.

I agree posts need to be indexed topic wise so people need not waste time in searching for discussion topic one choses to read and answer.

People rant all the time. It takes a lot of work to respond to other's discussions, and that is the best way to gets ours responded to as well.

I also rant here most of the time. But since most of the members have their own clique, they usually reply to each other.

I agree. There are times that Asian people are not hitting the top. It has been a long time that I have not seen them on top 1.

That is what I missed. My regular myLotters are not that active here anymore. It means I need to work hard to gain more than now.

I don't see this as a rant. You get comments by reading others posts and commenting. That's it.

@RubyHawk I do want to share things up here. But then, it seems I am not in a high spirit to do it lately. I can still do it by commenting.

Is it not sound ranting? I guess I know how to carry myself in times like this. It is a good idea not to post any discussions from me for now. I will just do commenting other discussions instead.

@Shavkat Oh, no, you should post and get your news and opinions out. That's why we come to Mylot.

It's their right. What is more important is what you post is not a violation of guidelines.

I don't believe this is a rant. It's hard to know why some posts do well and others don't but some are hard to comment on - for various reasons.

I am trying to find the secret recipe for this matter. I do rant in a mild way. In fact, it is not me that can rant big time.

I do like to read long discussions. But I do not have enough time to read them. The reason is that I am teaching online while mylotting.

I used to rant about only getting 2-3 comments on posts, then I just...got over it? I have accepted the fact that not everyone will read every post, some do not comment, some cannot think of what to comment and maybe they just don't care what I am talking about and that is okay. It used to anger me, but instead of just crying about it, I should just make other posts that other people will read.

This is also my concern. What if I posted a discussion and I need help? If they do not read it, then I will be just feeling upset. As you had said, "They just simply do not care." Moreover, I just need to accept this fact. It was proven for a couple of times that we cannot please everybody here.

You can rant here as long as you don't violate the rules. I am not sure. Some of my posts receive a good number of responses while others get only few. There are some users who are always in top rated discussion and I am not sure what is their trick. I would like to learn that.

@Shavkat One thing is for sure that they are very regular and have developed a good rapport with other users. Also some post really good interesting posts that gets many reading and responding. Also they visit others post and so others visit theirs.

honestly, i choose discussions that i would have something to say in response. sometimes i read a discussion, but don't say anything. sometimes i don't read it because it's too long. but maybe you're not getting many comments because of the time you post it, maybe there aren't many active members then.

@Shavkat well, there are some interesting long discussions, but i'm a bit picky with the way someone writes. i like when the text is separated in paragraphs and some people make it all in one piece and it makes me tired.

Ranting is always allowed as long as you do not name anyone in particular ..... as for choosy, I think we are all choosy. Sometimes it is as if no one is online and discussions are not noticed then at other times it is as if everyone is here and people are getting many many hits.

@Shavkat some of the mylotters also very choosy indeed. They're not respond to your discussions, but instead they find the flaws in our account.
